Title: Transmission Fluid Change??

Hi Guys, I just bought a used People 50. It is in pretty good shape but I do not think that it was well maintained so I want to take care of a lot of things with it. I am wondering if you guys change the gear oil? I know there is a drain / fill plug in the gear box so I assume the oil is supposed to be changed but wanted to double check. Also, is the standard 10w90 gear oil as the service manual suggests best? I am pumped about this new scooter, thanks in advance for the help/advice.

Congratulations , I bought a 2002 people 50 in january . I am loving it . Mine only has 1100 km on it and was well cared for I think . I changed my gear oil at 1000 Km but it looked very clean . I used mobil 1 synthetic . I also switched to amsoil interceptor synthetic 2-strike oil and installed a ngk irridium plug . I had a honda metropolitan before and I really liked it untill I got my people . I am much happier with my kymco ! Good luck with yours .
