Title: Looking to Buy a Scooter
Post by: ckgonska on May 24, 2012, 01:17:46 AM
Hey all, I'm new here and looking for some expert advice....
My wife bought a Like 50 and I enjoy riding it but it isn’t fast enough.
I’m looking for something that will go at least 55-60mph on my way to work (7 miles).
Would the Like 200i work or should I buy something with more power.
Any information would be appreciated.

             Thanks!

It'll work, but 200i is actually ~170cc and has 12hp, which will make for a nice ride up to around 60mph,
but I wouldn't cruise at 60-65 since that's virtually it's top speed.

Don't get me wrong, it's a huge difference from the 50, but you can outgrow it in a week.

You will get another Like? Have you considered other 200cc models? People or Yager, etc.? or you just like the Like?

I weigh 180 and my Like 200i will get to 60 MPH very easily.  I am still in the break in period so I don't stay there long. Another 500 miles and then I can "let 'er rip". :)

I'd say to get a Yager. I'm 210 and I was cruising home at 68mph after changing the roller weights out. Fuel mileage the last few fill ups are all over 80mpg, too!

Thanks all for the info.  I'm not really stuck on the LIKE.  I do really like the cost of it though.

Thanks all for the info.  I'm not really stuck on the LIKE.  I do really like the cost of it though.

This swayed my decision on which one to get as well. $2600 is a lot better than $3500 for the Yager.  What I really wanted was the GT 300i but nobody had one plus it was $5400.  Had someone had one in stock, I probably would have bought it instead of the Like. One dealer did have a Yager in stock but I just didn't care for the styling of it.  All that being said, I love my Like 200i and am glad I got it.

I hated the Yager.. until I tried it.  ;)

You really should try one, if you can, it's a different riding experience, and the
Yager 200 is a bit faster then the Like 200 (3hp more), if that makes a difference.

..but it's not a scoot you'd want to look at when you stop for a coffee break.
HOWEVER, you WILL get a lot of "WTF is that?!  ???" if you buy one, which is
also fun!

The Like is more of a "So, your wife let your ride her scoot?" scooter.  ;)
