Is there a way to R&R the fuel filter without taking off the seat, storage box and so on? Can just the left side plastic/floorboards be taken off to do this? I called a dealer and they have a filter in stock! Holy crap! :-*

That's the easy stuff. Changing variators is the hard part. Shouls only take u 10 minites if that. To remove the inside saddle.

So the side plastic does not have to come off? The manual says yes it does, but they are often wrong. :-*

I don't see any way to remove the floorboard (what's being called inside saddle here) without going through the manual sequence. However, it may be possible to access the filter by taking off only the left side skirt. Try and see. Have you had any of this off before, Sissy?

No, a dealer has, and I watched him, but that has been 2 years ago at least? I have never done it myself. :-*

Start with the seat bucket, there's 4 allen head bolts and 5 10mm nuts holding it on, let the piston just hang from the seat and tie the seat forward with a bungee cord. Watch when you lift the bucket out and disconnect the light and charger wires on the right side and you'll expose the whole engine compartment. It's easy to get to the carb and filter from there.
Well, easy as getting anywhere on a scooter.

I'm talking about the fuel filter, not the air filter. You can get access to the carb and air filter via the plastic covers. No need to pull box/seat etc for those. :-*
