Oil Service light came on Friday. I had ordered filters which came Fri. afternoon. When the light came on I had thoughts of my Honda Element running around for years with the maintenance light on but the light can be easily turned off as described in the manual. Drain bolt is 16mm I believe as this would be the size between 15&17mm which I do not own. Resorting to american I mangled the drain plug a bit. Went with 15w-50 synthetic. Changed hub oil as well and fill port is a bit smaller than my syringe but managed with a modified tip. Scoot now has 3250 miles so she'll be good for another month or two. After reading the fun over in Modern Vespa with filters for the new BV it reinforces the decision to go with the 300gti :)

Can you tell me what kind of hub (transmission) oil you used? All the manual says is "SAE 90". I have some Mobil 1 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Lubricant I used with my previous Chinese scooter. Do you (or any other interested/knowledgeable readers) have an opinion as to whether that's an appropriate fluid to use here (on the GTi300)? If not, what suggestions do people have?

My dealer uses Pro Honda HP trans oil SAE 80W/85W. He said this works fine.

I used 75w-90 synthetic and am getting close to another change soon. The more important issue I have read is not to add too much as you can damage seals by over filling. The thing I have never understood is the hub lube looks exactly the same leaving as the new going in.
