So, driving to work this morning and I notice this young 20-something girl following too close, chomping on gum like a cow chewing cud and watching everything but the road. I keep a watch as she continues to creep closer and so I flash the brakes to warn her she is getting too close. Then I'm approaching a traffic light which changes. I know I'll never clear the intersection before it goes red, so I hit my brakes. I watch miss gum chomper not see me until too late and then slam on her brakes in a panic. I hit my throttle and go partway into the intersection and manage to just avoid getting hit - literally by the width of my hand. Miss gum chomper then proceeds to start yelling at me. I let her go all hysterical for a couple of minutes, then said calmly..."don't you think you were following a little too close?" and take off. She follows in her car for a few blocks and then turns off blaring her horn at me. I gave her the bird at that point. Here's the kicker - several co-workers saw the whole thing (it was close to work) and one had called the police and given them her license plate. They plan to follow up with a report, which means she will get a summons to appear in court. Really made my day - once I changed my underwear.

..get that gum chompin biatch!!!..

Exact same thing happened to me last August only i got hit >:(
Car shunted scoot forward into the road but amazingly i managed to stay on my feet. Damaged my rear mudguard, number plate and indicator but not as bad as it couldve been. Got paid out for new scoot parts from her insurance pretty quickly so thats fixed. Still got an ongoing claim for whiplash and soft tissue damage to my lower back and shoulder from me holding the handlebar while it got the shunt. My necks never right since. Hoping for a payout in the next month or so, already refused a £2000 offer, expecting £2500-£3500 hooefully which will take my mind off my neck for a little while at least :)

..damn, stre...
..hold out for the big bucks!!

Oh i intend to, its money in the bank as far as im concerned so im in no real rush to settle quick. Had an independent specialist examine me who confirmed everything my own doctor and physiotherapist said so its all good. Unfortunately, we dont get the mega-payouts you guys seem to get over there, average is £2500-£4500 for my injuries, still a nice little sweetener tho, i can put up with a creaky neck for that :)
I already got it spent, Vespa paintjob, few upgrades for the A50, at least 1 new Tattoo and pay off credit card bill. :D

..dont count them biddies before they hatch!..lol..

Counted and spent, many times over ;D
If it comes to it i can always skip the credit card bill :)

A few has lived to tell stories about that here. Mostly because trucks from behind are the culprits. Knock on wood...

Let's analyze...
hmm..
1. "chomping on gum like a cow chewing cud" sounds like "clumping with cum like a cow screwing Fudd"
2. "watching everything but the road" - ::) ::) ::)
3. "I keep a watch as she continues to creep closer" - Definition of creep (krp) intr.v. crept (krpt), creep·ing, creeps:
To move with the body close to the ground, as on hands and knees.
Hmm... sexy...
4. "Really made my day - once I changed my underwear". - bad boy!!!!
5. "I gave her the bird at that point." - your bird?
blue's right!!!!
-
What's wrong with you soul less bastards. He was just admiring the twenty something, and forgot where he was! Damn... I take naps on the scoot. That's what cruise control is for.

Doesn't this guy know that wearing flip-flops is very dangerous????
He has no helmet and is wearing shorts!!! He should be apprehended !!

At least he can see who is gonna creep up on his behind!!!

Zombie, glad to hear you survived a brush with the Reaper. Whenever I have someone tailgating me, much like you did, I often squeeze the brakes multiple times followed by dropping my left arm and hand to my side and waving the car back. If they don't get it, the first chance I get at a light or stop sign I turn, open my helmet and tell them to back off. Unfortunately there are too may A-holes on the road. Last March I was rear-ended at a toll booth by a Ford Explorer. Surprisingly there was little damage and the guys insurance paid for the repairs.

LOL...you guys are a riot. I had no intention of bad mouthing cows (not trying to be punny here) or of setting you guys up for a letter to Penthouse. I am glad that I do keep an eye on my mirrors though. Someone on a scooter or motorcycle gets rear-ended around here 3-4 times a week it seems. Rhode Island is notorious for bad drivers, and if your head ain't on a swivel - you shouldn't be on two wheels, because a cager will take you out...and my wife wonders why I don't go anywhere without my armor.

Stay away from some toyotas with the sudden acceleration issues!!!
Ah, by the way welcome bleys to the forum!! Hope you'll enjoy your stay! We'll make sure it won't be boring. ;D ;D ;D
