Title: KYMCO YUP 50 PROBLEMS, URGENT HELP NEEDED :(
Post by: colourcode on May 03, 2012, 03:39:43 PM
So i've broken down on the way 2 work now 2days runnng, the bike is really bogging off the line and even bogs at top speed sometimes and its causing a real problem, ive put a new plug in but that hasn't solved it, the plug is oily. I can't see it being the air mixture as it was fine 3days ago and has got worse since!

the bike has been stood for around a year on grass though.....

do you think sh** in the carb is the problem?

thanks and sorry for posting in the wrong place and bad grammar, my hands are cold and theres no yup 50 section :(

...well, welcome to the forum, and sorry to hear of your troubles...

..you say the scoots been idle for a year???

..if so, then you need to drain the old fuel out...

..and yes, there is a great likelyhood that there is trash in your carb...

..a thorough carb cleaning would be your first priority after draining and adding some good, high octane fuel...

..might also want to add an ounce or so of Seafoam to that first tank..it will help burn junk out of the engine and exhaust...

...post back!!

peace

thank you guys, got a new board now lol. trouble is i live in the uk, i have been looking round and have contacted a local kymco dealer.

Does anyone know the paint codes for the kymco bikes? Mines a yup 50 in ruby red, because if i have thte code i can get it made up at a local shop, i've mixed it myself before so its not  really a problem.

Another question, are the kymco 50cc engines the same? as im going to have to spend money ggetting this bike running properly again so think i may spend a few hundred more getting it up to the 60mph zone...

many thanks for the quick reply and can we please open a yup 50 section in the forum?

All the best- CC

Look around at the bottom of the posting pages... There is a tab called report to moderator. That is for posts that you believe should be pulled but perhaps you can get Skadamo's attention regarding a Yup Board.
As for the paint a simple digital pict will get your mix... Take 3-4 picts so your shop can get an average feel for the color. Every pannel will be just a bit different, and sun fading is a big issue.
For the engine... On the bottom left side below the cvt cover is a rectangular tag cast into the engine case. Your engine code is engraved into that tag. Post up what you have, and we'll let you know which models cross to yours.
