DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND THIS TOOL . (FOR LESS THAN $124.00!)
I HAVE A LOCK NUT ON THE CRANK SHAFT, HOLDING THE ONE WAY STARTER GEAR. THE LOCK NUT IS APPROX 30MM IN DIA, WITH FOUR SLOTS CUT INTO THE DIAMETER AT NINETY DEGREE INTERVALS. THE EXPOSED CRANK SHAFT IS APPROX 3" LONG. SO THE TOOL NEEDS TO BE DEEP.
THANKS B.G.

it's easy! find a piece of galvanized pipe of the right diameter. hold the pipe against the lock ring, and mark the material that has to be removed (from the pipe). you can use a bench grinder to remove . at the other end drill a 5/16 hole through which you can use a hefty phillips screw driver for leverage. hope you get the concept. good luck

If that does not work, I am pretty sure I can get you one. Not sure of the cost though. If interested let me know and Ill see what I can do.
