Hi Guys I have a question: Are any of the standard wattage super hyped h8 bulbs ( PIAA Xtreme White,GP Thunder Plasma or MTEC 2x Super White) that much better that a ordinary parts store H8 in the headlights of a DT300i? I like know if its worth the time and money to change out the stock bulbs.

Be careful with Silver star as they run really really hot.

You can either use them or not.. ;D
I'd love to put in a HID kit on the low beams.. but seems like too
much work with all the plastics (I hate scooters for that).
Would be nice if low beam would stay on when you engage the highs too.

They run hot enough to melt the plastic in the light. They also are 55 watt and the HID are 35 watt same as the factory bulbs. HID's are not that hard to install, just mounting the ballasts. several of us have done modes to keep low beam on all the time. I did a simple short on the hi low switch on mine. someone else on this forum did a different setup for the same thing. should be able to search the forum for it.

??? racewalker do you have cars flashing there lights at you with low beams on, I do, my light do not seem to light up there windows, but some cars flash me, high beams I gave up on them, as I could not focus them after I installed HID lights, the low beam light are the best with HID,s I tryed all of the others listed above, but found them wanting, I must be getting old or something, 79 and still riding,

I don't have much issue with people flashing, I think it is because more and more people are using them now. BTW I am only 9 years behind you.

Replaced both hi and lo beams with H8 xenon 55 watters. These were cheap bulbs off of Ebay. The lo beams are brighter and wider. The hi beams are useless. I tried several times to align the hi beams but to no avail. So far the plastic outer lenses have not melted (lol).

I've had problems with those Hi Falutin PAIA bulbs as they only last about
2000 miles on a bike. You need heavy duty bulbs to stand up to the vibration.
Most bulbs are speced at 13V these days too a normal vehicle is closer to 14v
which will make them brighter but also not last as long.
I prefer HID's but try to get a color that's close to stock (4300K) the blue and
purple ones attract attention. You can buy a 35 watt car kit and do 2 bikes for
cheap! It's a hassle to install them but it only has to be done once then your
a happy camper for a long time!
