Title: General politics and economy thread
Post by: axy on April 04, 2012, 01:45:03 PM
So, world politics and economy situation... anything goes, but please, state some facts backed up with data and refrain from purely subjective statements...

To open the discussion: Is your country experiencing economic and social prosperity, is it stagnating or is it going down the hill? :)

We can start from here...

Thanks Ax!...
When I am elected World President I will make sure there is a chicken in every pot/kitchen. There will also be 2 Hydrogen powered Magnetic/Hydraulic cars in every garage. I will also revoke ALL visa's, and passports, and open ALL the borders of every country on the planet... (Except for New Jersey. Jersey would be for Dictators/Hippies/Meth heads, and those bikers that cut the sleeves off every jacket they own.) The global language will be Polish cause it sounds soooo cool. Oil as a fuel or just in general will be sucked out of the earth, and flown into space in one of the Hydro cars I mentioned earlier. The most important thing I will do is: Use my Gennie to get my one wish... Any person that lies will have his head exploded instantly. And finally I will dig up the ancestors of the BUSH family (both sides) Zombiefy them and let every person who chooses to kill them. (this can be done many, many times).
No one really has to vote for me cause you all know I'm right for the job so I'll just move into the New White House in the morning. It's that real cool looking house next to the Sunoco station down the road. The one that has horses, and a Peacock.
Thanks guys. Love you all!
The world IS your oyster. STOP f***ING IT UP! Try saying HI to that guy that pee's in your yard, and sleeps in the alley. He would say hi if he wasn't afraid you would have him arrested! Maybe give 500 bucks to the red cross instead of spending it on new lizard skin shoes. Or just send a thank you note to that guy in Africa helping children avoid slavery/murder. Just 20 minutes of your time to send a F'n thank you. WAKE THE F' UP! You are all intelligent enough to use a computer so try doing something every day to HELP. Just ONE thing a day is enough. Me personally... I am a Child abuse super hero. If I see a child maliciously hit... I hit back for them. If I see muggers picking their prey... I stop them. If you doubt me it may be because you yourself have never stood up, and seen the results. Stand up for someone, and see. You cannot be stopped once you start. I can't stop the politicians but I DO stop the bullies the emulate them. Just thank someone that deserves it. Tell a friend too.
See! No need to vote... I got this!
Thank you Axy!
Ps. I've PROUDLY raised a daughter (by myself) to do something for someone EVERYDAY. She is now raising 2 children (with her wonderful husband) to do the same. So now there are 5 of us.
You know why the jails are full? Because of parents that raise kids that burn cars at f***ING collage basketball games. It's never the kids fault how they are raised. Raise your kids RIGHT. Make them know how important it is to do SOMETHING for ANYONE else. Teach them if they EVER LIE ONCE their head will explode so they can't waste time/resources the GOOD people need. White lies are the same thing as shaking a newborn baby to death. NOT RIGHT.
SEE! I GOT THIS!
I wonder how many Hooidie Tooidies stopped reading after the first sentence. It don't matter cause in MY mind, their head is already gone. Look at what they missed.

All hail emperor zombie, supreme leader of the new world  :D

Totally agree, kids arent born bad they learn their behaviour from their parents ways. If the parent is a sh** then the kids will prob be a sh** too. My kids are just mini-me's and i choose to educate them in important stuff like freedoms and equalities and standing up when they know something is wrong. If i ever heard like a racist statement or something from one of them then i would sit them down and explain exactly why theyre wrong. I got 2 kids, aged 14 & 9, and i have never had to belt, paddle, smack or otherwise assault them to teach them right from wrong. If i smack a guy in the street its assault so if i hit a kid its assault too and i should be jailed, or even better tied up and kicked in the balls, hard.

Same arguement goes for so called "devil dogs". The dogs are fine, its the owners who have no control over them because they only want a status symbol to make them look tough. Lack of proper training and set boundaries creates confusion in the dogs, who then get punished and they dont know why, which in turn can lead to resentment and eventually the dog turns on the owner who ends up getting rid of it or killing it because "That dogs out of control". Of couse it is you f***wit, you didnt spend any time with it as a puppy and let it do what it wanted. Kids and dogs are very similair it seems, only the dogs are generally hairier.

I understand your argument, but half of every personality is nurture and other half is still - nature.
Many bad parents have excellent children and many excellent parents have psychopathic murderers for children.

Most murderers have problems in childhood or in their youth that couldve been addressed but they usually get ignored or no body cares so the problem gets worse, their ideas get more warped and no-one tells them it not right or gives them help. If people who are mentally unstable get help and medication or councilling etc then most will not end up beimg a problem.

How many of these serial killers are found to have had trouble as a kid or teen for animal abuse or cruelty? Loads. Its one of the signs that somethings not right, but the parents or friends do nothing to stop or help  it early on so it escalates.

Even a person born with social or mental issues can lead a normal life if they are given help, advice and shown coping mechanisms for their personal issues.

Most people with mental health issues are just needing help to cope, once they get that they are stable and can usually interact normally in society. Help should not mean simply medication tho. Teach your kids how to behave properly, let them know you wont condemn them if they need help or make a mistake, and make sure they know youre there if they need help or advice or even just a chat. Most parents today are too busy working to properly care for children. If theyre not at work then theyre too tired to play with the kids from having to keep 2 jobs to pay all their credit card bills.

Nature plays a part but Nurture plays a bigger part. You can make a good man crack and go mental just the same as you can with a nutcase, it just takes a little longer.

I really agree with more nurture than nature. People by nature are animals. Not metaphorically but actually. Look at the "wolf boy' or the girl found in a texas sh** hole that was somewhere around 11 before people found her. One room her whole life.
Children that survive alone, and are not taught will kill to eat, rub their buts on the lawn to ...you know. We Are born as animals. It's our environment that makes us what we are. Not God. Not Buddha, and certainly not tv or video games.
That is the point of my entire being. I try to help everywhere I can...Invited or not.
I asked everyone  to do 1 thing a day to make life easier for anyone, and it is going right back to: "It takes a village to raise a child." Not nature.
Funny thing I just realized... A dog knows how to care for itself if left alone. All animals have programed instincts for survival. Humans do NOT. Everything we know is taught. Odd more than funny how we think we are the apex, when we Really are the food.

I haven't seen any real comments on the OP yet.

It would help if we started out by stating what country we were from when commenting also.

I'm in the USA and we are in turmoil, the pot is calling the kettle black and vice versa, all the while our elected officers don't have to abide by the same rules and laws that the people they represent do.

In short the USA is in dire need of an overhaul.

U.S. Govt "policy" is one issue I really don't know how to solve. Most of us know what is wrong but do not see a way to repair the system. Perhaps going back to the Original Constitution/Bill of Rights? It seems to me the source of our trouble is from "elected officials" lying to the public at large. Not simply mis stating fact, but Lying. There seems to be a mentality that dictates "the more power you gain in life the Stupider everyone else gets". It seems to me with everyone I know having something to spout off about there would be an easy fix.
First off tho... The electoral system in the U.S. is just wrong. Every man, woman , and goat in a state votes for "A", The electoral (winning) vote is "B". HUH?
Fact: There would have been no 10 year war if Bush did not STEAL the presidency. Little coincidence that the one state that had a f***ed up tally is the state his BROTHER governed. Such a simple thing caused 100's of thousands of deaths.
Perhaps a "United Nations" type political policing agency. Any countries leaders F'ing up could be put out instantly. No hearing just out. Look at our Beloved Bill Clinton. HE IS A LIAR! He lied to the entire world about SEX. Not murder or baby thieving. Just SEX! Now his ragady ass wife is Sect. of State? WHAT? How about 15 years in prison for him, and a bar from politics for her. She is NO innocent either. Insider trading...
I have never traveled outside the US but I do read. Every other economically developed country has State funded health care. Here we have Welfare for those that decide to stay home doing drugs, and spending other peoples retirement money on Old English 40's. I say welfare should be eliminated altogether. Set up a Govt. Day Care for the little sluts that get pregnant with out a husband. Instead of welfare for them MAKE them work for the money. Have the single mom apply for welfare to support her/baby, and instead give her the keys to the daycare center where she can watch the babies of all the others that would rather work. Same for Medicare... It is a F'ing JOKE. These welfare "clients" get free medical for the kid so they are at the Dr.'s office every f'ing day. I think they do this to show "how much they care" about little Johnny. In reality they don't give a sh**! They are trying to make their drug addicted self feel/look better by "taking Johny to the Dr.'s today"
There is too much for me to try to get off my chest. Ho about just sterilizing these people??? If you want welfare we will pay for ONE child, and you MUST be sterilized. Your choice. That's what I thought.

This is very interesting... There is a Professor in Cali. His name is Gates I believe. A black man studying black "studies". His ambition was to educate white America on the history/struggle of blacks in America. In researching Slavery he found "Whites" did NOT go into Africa stealing black people... Black tribes were selling their rival tribesmen to the whites. So BLACKS were the source of all the slaves taken to America. That lights a fire with every audience (mainly black) he lectures to so he devised a simple solution... A FREE one way ticket for ANYONE that hates America soooo much to go back to "The Mother Land". NOT ONE SOUL has taken a ticket.
I'm not using color to make the point. I am stating people in general do not see the real picture because there is ssoooooo much deception it seems easier to say WHAT CAN I DO!

The advantage of humans over animals is rationalism, the problem of humans is rationalism, we were given brains to rationalize but most humans don't properly use it or rather use it the negative way. It's already a cancer! Damn! Let's just nuke all of the U.S. of A. and start all over again. This is the best way! Of course, Zombie, and all you guys are invited to my country/house for temporary refuge.

I'm living in Germany. Together with some neighbours, it is and was a comparatively save harbour in the rough ocean for decades. Many people from distinct countries come here to live and work.

Imho we would be still happier without the occupation troops, which use large bases in our country for their raids in Iraq & Co - and cause political trouble to a country located between east and west.

I'm aware of the lies! They (Americans) had their Air Force and Navy bases here in the Philippines for many years, now that they were sent home, they still want to come back in the form of having "friendly war exercises on our shores". Again, a big lie! they just want to be positioned here again. During the second World War, they just told lies and bribed our "innocent" citizens with Hersheys, M&Ms, butter, Marlboros, and all the good U.S. stuff so they will be welcomed. My father was about 12 years old then and worked for the Japs because he said "The Japanese are very respectful and true gentlemen" Again, what made the Japanese look bad were black propaganda, US. media, and...tadaa!!! Hollywood!!!  When a Japanese F*cks a prostitute, they call it "raping these comfort women", but when a G.I. Joe rapes an innocent teener, they'll say "it's the fault of the young flirty bitch!!!" Then the U.S. embassy comes in and sends his soldier home. I would like to see that soldier's dick tied to a modified ZX!! >:(

While I agree that it is time to remove american troops from foreign countries, I think some people need to remember that it was their actions that caused the situation in the first place.
Remember the atrocities that got you occupied, and why at the time we needed to be there.
It also seems short sighted to blame the USA for situations negotiated and agreed to by your own governments.at best we are only half responsible.

The old people, who can remember the war during their childhood, had probably no influence at all. At worst they have been forced to serve as child soldiers. The had been victims and they still are victims. As their childs and grandchilds too.
Who does really think an "eternal" occupation will make love?

A Native American, a Cowboy, and a Black man are sitting around a camp fire, and the Native began to sob. The black man says... Whats bothering you Indian. The Native says... Once my people were many. We held all the earth below our feet. Now there are just a very few of us left. The black man said once my people were very few, and now we are the majority in most areas of the country. The cowboy says... That's cause we aint played cowboys, and niggers yet.

Capitalism sucks for the workers. The guy digging the hole gets minimum wage. The guy that tells him where to dig gets xxx.
Communism sucks for the same reason. The only real cure is get rid of the money. No money= level playing field. If you REALLY think about it, there is no need for money at all.
I would suggest watching a crappy movie with a valid point: Out of time
It replaces money with time. You are born with x time, and the rest is up to you. GREED is the root. People just SUCK.

Hey, all americans, quit squawking about politics and go pay your taxes. Remember, it's the patriotic thing to do. And think about all the fine politicians that have your money spent already. (Here in the usa tax day is upon us, April 17 I believe. Just happens to coincide with the same day that is generally regarded as the day when all the money you have made this year goes to the government.) Enjoy the rest of your year!

Capitalism does indeed suck bigtime. Im with Zombie, my time is more valuable than any amount of money.

For me a form of Marxism is the way to go, only theres too many greedy bastards who are just out to look after themselves so even that would fail with the current mindset of society at large today.

Its true, power corrupts.

Hey , wait just a minute . This thread is obviously intended as a stage for some good old USA bashing . I suggest you start a new thread for religion bashing . Good day .

Well, I am not contributing to this thread too much, but aren't you just a tad paranoid?
Previous picture is just excerpt from some statistics.

Nominally and statistically, this number for my country is - 89,88 % just for Catholics!. Among top ranking in Europe.
+ Ortodox, Muslim and everybody else..
However, there is a big difference between "historical" classification as being religious and practical one.
Some research says that practically, this number is not far from 11 % for my country.

As for bashing, everybody should be educated and critical enough to make separation between "USA politics and establishment bashing" and "USA people bashing".
For example, I think that main export of USA has been crisis in the past decades and its foreign policy is nothing short of being fascist and dictatorial. This spills over to national area too - take a look at laws that do not exist anywhere else since times of Nazi Germany.
However, I would never claim that American people are like that. Elite is one thing, people are completely another. Unfortunately, all great things done by Founding Fathers have become distorted perversion.

Good day to you too.

Any chance we can make posts without using bad language? The reason I say this is at some point it could turn into "you/I are an F'ing idiot" and that doesn't make for good productive conversation or debate. It's up to us of course as I am only a member here like the rest of you.

Whie I agree that Bush got us into war that doesn't mean that Gore would not have done the same. After all all Gore had to do was get hold of a judge toward the end and he choose not to. Sounds more to me like Gore was told to let it go. Besides the point though Gore also has made a mint and served a greater purpose by pushing the global warming deal. Before long you will be forced to buy carbon credits, yes you will be paying for the air you breath.

Clinton, you need to check into Vince Foster and see if he was murdered or not, but that is neither here nor there also. I think they are all killers, fakes phonies and fruads. All bought and paid for by corps. that want to push their idea of what is right and wrong.

You mention going back to the constitution, yet that maybe a UN type agency could make rulings over certain issues. That goes against our constitution, we are a complete and individual country regulated by no other law but our own. If we change that one thing we open the door for further moves against us.

For the record I am not a Dem or a Rep, I am a free thinker and freely think we are in great trouble.

More reasons to follow.

Just scanned the 2nd page and I'll add this. To the German that posted here about America, I could go into great length and detail about WWII and the relationships between Germany and America but there is far too short a space for that.

I won't go so far as to apologize for what America does, if it weren't for America and Germany would have lost the war you'd be under Russian control now and not looking so good. Germany for whatever reason got themselves into a mess. Just like the American people of today (myself included) are in a great mess. WWI was fought and lost by Germany, that eventually got them into WWII and Hitler. Most people from everywhere are good people it is their leaders that get them into trouble. I have traveled a great deal and have been warmly welcomed wherever I've been. Why, because people are good.

I for one love Germany, have been there 3 times and would go back tomorrow if I could, but the people or leaders of Germany agreed to certain terms when the war ended and now they are paying for those agreements, fair or not they agreed.

To the member from the Philippines, your people welcomes Gen McAuther to your island as if he were a God! The Japanese were brutal to your people, treating them as dirt and inferior, just as they did with people from China. True your people don't want us (the US) there anymore but that doesn't make us the bad guys. If we had lost the war you'd be under rule of Japan and it would not be the same Japan as you see today.

 OK done with page 3.

No USA bashing at all, the USA has exported far too much political grab. What are we doing in the middle east, except taking oil on the cheap. What we should have done was kept up the offense during and after WWII and taken everything if that is what we wanted all along. Let’s face it, fuel in the US is far cheaper than most of the world.

Again it would be nice if we could state what country you are in/from so it makes things easier to understand your point of view.

(Me USA)

As far as needing money, we could easily enough get by without paper money by using silver and gold, but it's the bankers that need money or what is coming next (credits). This way they can tax you more efficiently and take their "fair share".

On your table Axy i would expect the numbers are pretty skewed and not really accurate. I know here in the UK when polls are taken on religion it can range from 20%-80% of our population who are christian of some kind or other, when in actual fact the number of practicing christians is probably closest to the lowest number. Personally i could count the number of practicing religious believers of any religion i know on one hand so in my world the number would be in the single figures given the number of people i know. Like any stat or poll chart a lot would depend on the wording of the question.

Anyway, in my opinion religion is one of the biggest causes of conflict and division around.

If we could all just get along and stop bickering over petty sh!t or illegally invading each other in search of power and wealth we would live in a far better world. Think of the money we would save on arms and warfare alone?

The US gov spend billions every year to protect their "freedom" and yet they live in a constant state of paranoia and fear of attack, is it worth it? Wouldnt it be easier and far cheaper to just be nice to other nations and respect their way of life even if its not the American way?

Religion messes way too much in American politics and public life, im glad i for one could not live like that. Why should the particular  religion or lack of it of someone even be an issue at election time? I dont get that. What all the nonsense about Obama being a muslim? Who gives a sh** even if he was? All that tells me is that those evangelical christian types are saying basically "we dont trust muslims" . Radical or extremist christians are just as bad as radical or extremist muslims, or jews, or hindus lr whatever.

Time we evolved and stopped worrying about some after life and instead concentrated in improvong all our actual lives.

Church and state must be totally seperate, otherwise you are no better than the muslim countries you all complain about who live under mullahs and sharia law.

I must say, its refreshing to hear rational and well made points made by Americans which doesnt involve "Go U.S.A!" type comments, i was worried this thread would end up as the world vs the US. Thing is, much as the news reports portray the middle east as a hotbed of terrorism and chaos, the same press portray Americans as gung-ho, money chasing, right-wing christian bigots. I knkw there are many good Americans just as there are many good Iranians or Iraqis, the nutters all just have a louder voice and drown out the reasonable and rational voices. Hawks vs doves.

So it still begs the point of how to fix the Global mess. We all agree people are Mostly concerned for global harmony, and it is the Elected/non elected officials acting at the whim of Corporate markets that create the worst of our problems (Haliburton) If lobbying were banned it would just go back into the alley. Vetting does no good at all because if your smart enough to make millions off "shady" deals you are smart enough to hide the evidence.
I have always seen aspects of religions that are 100% correct. Same for Govt. type/standard. Perhaps a UN dictate to guidelines for Govt. Take all the best bits from each, and Make it work. Opening all the worlds borders would be a tremendous start as well. You don't want your teenagers in the room with company, and the door closed, so why allow "shady" Govt's. to close borders. Including the US. The main issue with US /Mexico seems to be US tax dollars going to "Wetbacks" not contributing. I say give to NO ONE. NO more welfare at all. Problem solved. Use the dollars for health care not welfare. No ore green cards, just let them in, and let them live. If you or I were stuck in Mexico with no papers, we would become wetbacks too.
I would LOVE to travel but as most of you know I would wind up under a Turkish prison for laughing at the guy that smelled like Humus. Open the borders, and open your hearts.
Religion doesn't really matter. We all have a "god" of sorts. (although no one has ever seen the guy) Religion should be treated like underwear. We all have some but are not invited to show it to the world. Keep your Gods out of politics. PERIOD! It sucks how people will kill everyone, and everything because they say some inviable guy wants them to. How the F' do you argue with that? Religious wars belong in the stone age. If your Alah/budha/jesus. wants bodies let him get them.
I'm sure Putin would rather someone hold a door for his wife than kill her cause she's a Mormon for Snoopy's sake.
Yeah... Open the borders. That will change everything.

You talked like you were there! Who welcomed Gen McArthur? Your only reference are the history books maybe (made by Americans) or the Video clips and pictures of McArthur's return (taken by Americans and published worldwide aka: American propaganda! my God! these video clips were even shown in theaters).  Our people did not welcome him but the Americans themselves who were left in our country when McArthur left! He had to return to fulfill his promise of "I shall return!" and hopefully a notch up in popularity rating if he decides to run for President. My parents were there, my uncles and aunts were there my grand parents were there and a lot of other relatives. They did not welcome McArthur! Another point, the Japanese were not here because they want to conquer, rule or colonize us. The Japanese were here because they were after the U.S. bases in our country. They need to destroy these U.S. bases (remember Pearl Harbor also?) We were not in war with any country. The Japanese were not brutal to our people, a lot of my relatives and even my father before, worked for the Japanese in their camps. The Americans were brutal. A G.I. Joe will slap you and will just give a bar of Hersheys to compensate. We were colonized by the Spaniards. The Americans bought the Philippines from the Spaniards for 20 million dollars in gold, staged a fake war (I think one died), the Spaniards left, and Americans came in, built the U.S. bases and the rest is history. Our good citizens who were against the Americans cannot do anything, they were tagged as rebels, guerillas, and criminals. The Americans had guns, money, ships, planes, mass media, height, command of the English language, and everything good and powerful! It's either you're with them or against them.

Only a min. here so the quick fix is,

A global and local revolution, but it won't happen in the states just yet, we are still fat and lazy. We the last 3 generations don't know what it's like to go hungry and without work or food.

when the day comes that they deprive us of our liberty (as they are starting to do (Obama care, Patriot act, high taxes) and start to starve us then we may revolt. Also many Americans are watered down versions of yester year (meaning pretty dumb).

Time is short but I did read the first couple of lines and to answer you directly I got the info from the horses mouth, my father served in your country faithfully and saved many of your fellow people, insted of bitching you should be thankful!
no doubt knowone wants a base of another country on their soil, I would not like it and no doubt that crimes are made by GI's that should go punished. But if the Japs had their way with you and they did for a time you'd be speaking another tune. So God Bless AMERICA my friend, there's a reason so many of your people come to these shores even today.

Vermomt looks good to me  :)
'Tis my home State. We are like a country within a country. Life is different here. Trust me, I know (Boston, Florida, Phoenix are places that Ive been able to experience first hand) and I keep coming back.
As far as any USA bashing, I could care less. I'm not exactly teeming with pride over our flag the last several years. The image we portray to the world is not indicative of the fine people that actually make this country run. Having friends that aren't US citizens, I can appreciate how Americans must look from the outside looking in. We look gluttonous and bullish. We flash our smile in a manner that suggests "you'll do what I want ANYWAY or else" At times, this embarrasses me. However this is not who real Americans are.
But regardless of my roller coaster feelings regarding my country, I love the hell out of my state: Vermont.

What happens is, elected officials, with their visions, principles, political will, and what have you gets SWALLOWED by the "system" once they step inside the White House, Capitol Hill, etc. Again, it's a culture thing. I was once employed in government and  promised myself not to do what others do...I was wrong.  Just got out in time.  "When in Rome, do what the Romans do" so to speak.  Sometimes Presidents or leaders who initiate changes, gets assassinated. A very sad reality.

I full well understand that one. At 18 I enlisted in the Marines as an MP. My goal was to work it to State Troopers, and finally FBI. I did my 6, and walked. Once you are in the "room" your free will is attacked constantly. Your goals become unattainable, and your ambition wains until you are the puppet you despise. It is a very sad commentary on how the real world works. There is no individual way to make change. Even the ones that volunteer their lives for change are swept under the rug, or left in an alley. Try to swim up the next waterfall you find...

OK now I better see your point. The US has changed a great deal since Reagan left office, I felt his first term was our last true shot at changing things around. They shot him, yes to me it was a hit that missed, but he got the message and stopped pushing his second term.

Ever since we've been pushing the boundries throwing our weight around sticking our noses where it doesn't and never belonged. Ron Paul gets my vote for those reasons. be carful my American friends, that fence they put up between the US and Mexico isn't there to keep the Mexican's out, it's to keep YOU IN when the S#!t hits the fan.

But in doing so, keep my guards up and keep my principles intact. At least I know what I am doing, should be doing and should not be doing. I don't have the luxury to stick to my principles, shout out my rights, and run to the mountains for refuge.

I say this with all humility... I see the only change being catastrophic. We all know whats wrong, but the "machine" is BIG. The only way it will change will be "biblical" (not the bible per say, Just a flood of sorts). The Internet will end civilization. Hack the banks/scramble the accounts, and it WILL end. Once again...Money is the root. Kill the root, and the whole plant dies.

I remembered the great flood that hit our country back in September 2009 (typhoon "Ondoy") Flood waters rose to 12 feet just 2 inches from my house' second floor, gobbled up my car and one motorbike, and everything on the ground floor. A lot of people died, homes destroyed, cars floating everywhere, in short it was catastrophic. It was during these times when people helped people, no rich, no poor. Everybody helped everybody. The irony of it all is that, it is in disasters like these that people change, people become human beings again. I didnt need money because there's nothing to buy. I needed water and food.

Every "civilization" has had issues. It has always been Kill or Be Killed. Sucks if you're the later... Gets back to people are animals. If you make someone autonomous they grow bigger balls. If you automatize a nation people will feed off each others aggression until everything is excused, and moral decay sets in. That is the current situation in the US. Rapists get paroled, husbands are ALLOWED to murder their wives, and the lover, and sweet little Johny is allowed to run the streets doing whatever as long as the cops don't come to the house. Moral decay is cure-able just like cancer. KILL THE BAD CELLS. I keep saying explode the heads. Metaphorically meaning if punishment were equal across the board, and justice was always served, there would be no more decay. Say the teacher/nun were to walk into class, and hit every kid except one different child everyday. That is saying you have a one in whatever chance of getting off Scott free. Look at OJ. Or that monster mom that killed her daughter so she could go party with her beautiful friends. Let one fish go, and they breed more fish.
Vivo made one point that is a wrench in my gears tho. I have been thru several BAD hurricanes here, and the last knocked out power for 2 weeks +. I lived on a small "island" in St Augustine, and it was heartwarming to see everyone helping each other. When power was restored not many wanted it. Most of us kept on doing what we were doing. So small groups do work well together. Across the bridge in St augi proper there were trucks from everywhere selling generators for many times their original cost. Selling ICE for 20.00 a 10 lbs bag. These are people that could have  helped but would rather be on my sh** list. So that is where they will remain.
I do try to help everywhere I can but I will be the first in line for ammo when they open season on human cancer.
Comb your hair, wipe your feet, tuck in your shirt, and open the door for a lady. Ask your kids what they want from you. Tell your wife what a blessing she has been to you. If you cant/wont do these things tomorrow... swim out into the ocean, and don't look back.

There were people who remained on my sh** list also during that storm. These were the politicians giving out bottles of water to affected typhoon victims. However, the bottle labels had the politicians' pictures on them indirectly saying "remember me in the next election". Well, people just took the water, drank it, and threw the bottle away.

My brother in Houston told a very sad story when typhoon Katrina hit the U.S. A group of volunteers gave out hotdogs to hungry victims (there were lots of them) but were stopped by authorities because they don't have a "permit" WTF! You need a permit to feed a hungry fellowman??? Only in America! You spend millions to do research on how maggots live and multiply, but let fellow Americans on the cold streets to die.  Criminals in prison cells have "rights" but these homeless citizens don't.

I think your taking my comments out of context, matter of fact I know you are. The Japanese are still occupied by the US just as Germany is and I know they have hard restrictions on what type of military they are allowed to have, so that shows me how limited in scope your knowledge is. As far as what the US did and still does to the Native American's it is one of the greatest (biggest) crimes ever commited in the world. Russia won WW2 in Europe and freed Europe (and Germany too!) from fascism. The Russians effort exceeds that of all western forces by about 10x. Look at the vast recaptured territory and their immense human effort (and losses). Russia still helps Europe (and Germany!) not to be totally dominated by the US.
(Not that Russian leaders are more decent than US leaders - a single world leader is imho always bad.)

Sorry, but there were also so many resistance movements throughout Europe. My country for example (a country of 22 million at the time) was freed by local resistance movement and they drove away both Italians and Germans. There were neither Russians nor Americans in Yugoslavia at the end of WW II.

We should also notice that at the very beginning the Russians were Nazi Germany's allies. I wonder how many people are aware of the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact from 1939, and the fact that Germans and Russians have divided Poland between themselves.

Not entirely true! The US sat back while Hitler was decimating Jews/Poles/Slavs... We did not enter the war until Japan forced our hand. In fact Hitler was the Ossama Bin Laden of his day. US dollars were pumping INTO Germany during his "crusade". We actually supported/backed him. Same as Bin Laden. The US had no love for the French/English. We were Not their to protect them. We were there to cover our tracks.
Cuba is another example. Joe Kennedy was importing Cane Sugar/molasses from Cuba. He Founded Seagrams in Canada so he could produce whiskey during prohibition. The US was not allowing bulk sale of sugar for that reason. When Castro took power he (castro) denied sugar to the Kennedy's. THAT is why the embargo. Nothing to do with missiles. Sam Giancana, and Joe Kennedy were partners in the hootch business, and threatened to take Cuba from Castro. He in turn turned to the USSR for DEFENSE.
The Hootch money paid off, and a new President was bought. As for who killed Kennedy? Look up PPP. I'm NOT claiming to know Anything but there is some VERY interesting reading. Another book that is First hand on Cuba/Kennedy is "I Sam". Of course it is Biased but we can all read between the lines. Well some of us...

Pity those ordinary soldiers who become puppets of these greedy politicians. Funny you should say that! Animosity runs high towards Canadians from Northern Vermonters, New Yorkers, etc. I'm sure if you started a "NUKE CANADA" movement, you would have some flannel-wearing, cattle-herding, tractor-driving, red neck northerners on your side  ;D

I manage a retail store. We literally have buses come in and out during peak seasons with tourists. They're all full of Canadians. Some of my employees tell me they: "Dress funny, smell funny, talk funny, walk funny, and always argue about the exchange rate!" Truth be told, our tourists are French Canadians from the Montreal area, so I obviously realize that this minority group of seemingly wannabe Europeans are not an extension of who the collective "Canadian" is.

P.S. Having bonuses that are geared on store profit and increased sales, I LOVE CANADIANS!  :D

It is interesting that animosity from Americans towards Canadians (does it work vice versa - never heard of it?) to us from Europe seems no more relevant than animosity between Greeks and Turks, Serbs and Croats, German and French, Russiand and Kazakh... meaning it is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT.

It seems that it is enough for two nations to live close to each other to start cutting each others' throats (literally, or abstractly).

This shows what human nature is like. Homo homini lupus.

" Homo homini lupus. "

Yeah them too! Where do they live? (dirty hippie homo's) Never mind I found them. They are outside living in an old ice cream truck...

Really guys... I don't have a hateful bone in my body. BUT wrong is wrong. I am very tired of seeing hypocrisy, and b latent lies rule the day.
You all most likely know I thrive on fixing things, and people need alot of fixing. The reason I post all the ridiculous schtuff is to keep my mood lighter. If you cant laugh at your self... It puts things in perspective for me. If I claim to hate guinea pigs you can bet the farm I have a house full of homeless stray guinea pigs. (just no hippies, or people from anywhere)
I always feel like a kid in the candy store window. It can all be eaten but not today. I want to fix it but no one will help.
I do what I can when I can but it never seems like enough... swimming up that damn waterfall 24/7

It's a good thing we have the internet and this forum to let off some steam, otherwise, pressure will build-up and boom! Swimming up the waterfall has its purpose just like the salmon swimming upstream to spawn. The weak will never survive and only the strong has the right to spawn  ::)

It's always as simple as this: People have a distaste of anything that is out of THEIR norm. I find it to be a complete waste of time and energy. So I tell them "GET BACK TO WORK!"   :D      Afterall, my employees pay checks are paid in part from those that they are complaining about.

Korea war? Vietnam war? (failed) Kuba invasion?
We've spent billions of $'s on aid to 3rd world countries every year, we help out after every major disaster, but I guess those good things are not note worthy. I can't defend all the things my gov does, hell I disagree with many of them but I am not so navie to think they do these things for no reason.

...Russia won WW2 in Europe and freed Europe (and Germany too!) from fascism.

That's why everyone in the EU speaks Russian now, please! Land is one thing, population is another, we saved the asses of everyone that gets to vote today or at least anyone that could cast a vote in after the war.

That's kinda the root of the problem. The Choices you have at election time. Even IF the better man wins... It will be short lived at best. The real "puppeteers" never take no for an answer. Political Power = Policy (PPP)

I'm an American. But running off the quote above, I see the US's spending of "aid" to other countries as nothing but propaganda. People outside the U.S. do not realize that us American's are in just as tough economical shape as a lot of the world; but it sends the wrong damn message to your people when you spend billions on "aid" to other countries when you have your own budget problems. When the government makes decisions of aid or policy that affects other countries, they are using foresight. It's not done out of the kindness of their heart. It's done simply to invest in the future movements that they wish to make.

I'm an American, but not a proud American. Our government is s*&t, and an embarrassment to the "free world." Forget founding fathers, the soldiers and civilians that are dying/have died in the "wars" that the US has decided  to start are rolling in their graves. And for what? Oh yeah, to re-route entire people from their cultural norms so that we can collect in the present and future for "freeing" them. Aren't we an amazing example of "good"?

Huh? Why do you think Americans are doing this? for Charity? Remember, there's no such thing as a free lunch. While the Americans are showering us with "aid" and helping out in every major disaster, their "capitalist" friends are busy sucking out other natural resources of the country, mining precious metals and minerals, and other "payment" they could think of. The smartest of our people then was President Ferdinand E. Marcos. Our dictator who ruled for more than 20 years and later decided to declare Martial Law. HE WAS AN AMERICAN PUPPET! and he controlled everything! all big businesses, media, I mean everything!  Our people cannot do anything. If you're against him, you will end up a political prisoner or be shot. Not even a foreign country would dare fight Marcos because its just being against America. Nobody can remove him from office except the Americans, which did happen when our people decided "no more!" and marched to the streets in 1996. After he was removed by the Americans, our next President worked on removing the U.S. bases here.  Marcos' wife, Imelda, stole jewelry, money, and anything she wanted. She can even walk in any bank and ask for a suitcase of money and nobody can question her. Are you familiar of Imelda's 3,000 pairs of shoes? Those 20+ years were the greatest time of the Americans in our country.

There were even famous intelligent Americans who were opposed to the American imperialism. The 1898 Treaty of Paris which ended the Spanish-American War essentially allowed for the annexation of the Philippines by the United States. A Filipino independence movement begun earlier in the decade to free the islands from Spanish rule now was directed against the new foreign ruler, America. While many, if not most, Americans favored annexation, there were notable opponents, including William Jennings Bryan, Andrew Carnegie, John Dewey, William James – and Mark Twain. They, along with many others, formed the Anti-Imperialist League, which briefly served as the organizational center for opposition to the developing American Empire.

Twain told the New York Herald on October 15, 1900: “I have read carefully the Treaty of Paris, and I have seen that we do not intend to free, but to subjugate the people of the Philippines. We have gone there to conquer, not to redeem. It should, it seems to me, be our pleasure and duty to make those people free, and let them deal with their own domestic questions in their own way. And so I am an anti-imperialist. I am opposed to having the eagle put its talons on any other land.”

When the US gives "aid" it is ONLY to help itself out. The US would not enter WW2 and help the Britain when it asked until they were given land in return to build bases on in England, fact. Bases btw which they still occupy today. When aid is given it is normally G.M grain, which no one wants outwith the US anyway, or the "aid" can be in the form of the US paying its own companies to send goods/services, which again helps American companies. Its all part of the propaganda machine, much like the Taliban do, they promote the "good" they do to try improve their terrible rep abroad and gain a foothold into a foreign land to exploit later.

Im not US bashing here as the government in London is no better really, the only difference is that London just do it on a smaller scale.

If they want to give help or aid thats great but they should not expect anything in return, if they do its not aid, its business.

Given that England, France, spain, Holland, portugal, and other Europeans where raping and pillaging foreign lands centuries before tbe US was even founded, and the fact that most modern US citizens will be of European descent, i guess we can say that it was inevitable that athe US would continue where Europe left off.

I guess so, we were colonized by Spain headed by a Portugese then sold to the U.S. after 300 years. The Spanish taxation system gave a bad image to our people. "Juan Tamad" or "Lazy John".  Of course! people wont work anymore because more than half of the income or harvest goes to the Spanish government. I, for one, is a Spanish descent. Exactly Axy, that was my point, most of large European powers gained that power and wealth by exploiting and stealing from other foreign lands in the past. In fact some still do abuse and exploit other countries today, the Falkland islands or as the should be called Maldives are a perfect example. England claims them as "British" ??? British ??? They are NOT British, they lie off the coast of South America so how the f..k can they possibly be British? All down to power and wealth, especially now oil is into the equation there. Expect another oil war soon.

You have to hand it to anyone that excels at anything. I marvel at a good bank robber or art theif just as I do any country that pulls the wool over everyones eyes for century's (2 in this case). If it weren't the US it would be England, Japan, or some other country. Your all pissing and moaning about the US taking advantage of others not smart enough to stop them.

Who would you rather be doing this, the Russians, China? Someone will do it as there is always someone willing to abuse others. S stop moaning and tell us what's your solution?

Would you rather be influanced by one of those 2 countires or by the US? Right now the US is more danger to itself then any other place in the world, if we keep it up we'll be disolving the republic as we know it and that won't be good for it's citizens.

the US taking advantage of others not smart enough to stop them.

Its not about being smart or not, no matter how smart you are its difficult to beat someone who will use all their power and influence to force others to back them and their ideas up, which is what the US does on a daily basis. Smaller countries are coerced, bullied, threatened, bribed and forced to accept what the US wants, its the American way. Sure other countries do it too but none have anywhere near the pwerbase the US has thanks to decades of being used by America, and that includes Britain.

I dont care how rich and powerful my nation can become thro these underhand means, i dont want it if it means being a dictator to the world. How could i sit happily in my mansion, with all my comforts, stuffing my face with food and wine,  watching my 120" lcd tv show pictures of starving 3rd world countries? I couldnt, but many could.

The only way to end it is for the public to get so sick of the lies and deceit that they rise up and do something to force change. I thought it was happening with the occupy movement but alas it seems to have failed for now, but unless things drastically change then occupy level 2 will begin soon and this time it will be civil war i fear. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer but eventually it will get to that point where they have had enough. If you keep kicking a dog then eventually it will turn around one day and bite you in the ass.

The whole capitalist system is unsustainable, like a huge pyramid scam it WILL come crashing down. We need a new more fair way, where everyone shares the wealth and resources we have on this planet equally instead of this crap we have no with the haves vs the have nots. I vote for civil disobedience as a start, re-ignite the occupy movement, ignore their laws, stop paying taxes, and force the change we all need.

"You may say i'm a dreamer, but i'm not the only one. I hope someday you will join us, and the world can live as one" -  wiser words have not been spoken, we need a new global revolutionary group, and we need it now!

Well said! Now for the sake of debate I will hold up the US end here. So you don't give the US any credit for being so good and smart to not only control it's people but the people of your land as well? Come on you have to admit we're good at being bad.

One thing you did contradict yourself in is this: "Our people cannot do anything.", "Nobody can remove him from office except the Americans, which did happen when our people decided "no more!" and marched to the streets in 1996. "

It's never easy for the "people" to rise up and soon it will be our turn (Americans), we'll have to wait and see how it goes. I'm pretty well aware of Mrs Marcos and her shoes, people cannot expect to be helped without paying a price. The US is one of the richest countries in the world I get a slice of the pie, I get to live somewhat free, and have a chance at making it rich or at least a good comfortable life (which I have) much of it thanks to the US being so good at being bad.

I don't think there was a contraction, maybe just a wrong choice of words or wrong sentence construction from an Asian. There were lots of attempts before to "rise up" but failed. It was not an instant "no more, let's march" kind of thing. Lots of opposition fellows died. Political leaders who were planning to take over were either imprisoned, bombed, or they just vanish and later their bodies be discovered in an empty lot. Justice were nil. Series of events for decades led to this "peaceful revolution" in 1996, like a balloon slowly inflating and inflating and inflating and later, boom!

Ah! but Sir! I love America! especially U.S. products! I have very good American friends, like I've said before I have a brother in Houston, cousins in Florida, Colorado, Illinois, and Virginia to name a few. I love a big rack of U.S. barbeque with a sixpack of bud on the side, wifey's fav is apple pie, I grew up loving American stuff and riding my dad's '65 Mustang and '70 Challenger. Japanese cars were a no no. We love American muscle cars, including my son. And no country can make the best movies in the world but the U.S. of A.  You're right in saying that you get to live somewhat free and I know that for a fact. That is why a lot of us here love to stay there. All my relatives there are doing good that's why they call it "the land of milk and honey".  Well, like I said on my previous post, I'm not bashing America nor even debating, just reiterating history. Peace!

That made me realize... Most other countries stand up, and fight. You see it all the time on the "news" but in the US no one does. Sure small hippie tea parties, and Star Treckee's riot when the tickets are sold but no one here fights! Most of our cops are like Broc Lessner. Giant pussies that run for cover when the hurting starts, and our armed forces are children. There is no real threat to stop a takeover of the Govt. if that is the goal. Hell the state of New Jersey could kick some military ass in a fair fight. So what gives here? I don't see a NEED for US revolution, just an overhaul of policy is all but I think we are all too self centered to care about our future generations. Maybe that's why all the hype about the "end of the world". Maybe people here Hope for it to alive their guilt? Do the Non US'er believe in the end of the world sh**? We have a new "scare" every 2 years or so, and people think it's REAL. (TV Wrestling). I'd rather be in PRISON the rest of my life for ridding the Earth of a maniac than watch him pass by.

Fact is the US wasn't always as big and powerful as we are today, someone or group had to make it that way. We, America clawed our way to the top, beat the English, the Spanish, and any other challange that came our way (to this point).

As for a shared system of wealth, you've got to be kidding me. It's ad enough I pay for someone to sit home on their fat ass while work my butt off, you want more sharing then we now have?

If you are smart enough and or work hard enough to get where you are why should I pay someone to sit home? We all are offered an education, for free mind you. It's up to the person to do something with that education. Where do you draw the line? Everyone gets a Lexus and a brownstone in NYC? Or maye a condo along Miami beach

Reality versus Ideal. Where do you really draw the line? It's everywhere and it's human nature. It's in among countries and within countries. It's in society even, at work, school, and every neighborhood. Be it America, Japan, Europe, etc. Human nature is the same. There's greed, deceit, and gluttony. Somebody succeeds, you pull him down because he got his wealth thru unacceptable norms. One hates a promoted co-worker because he used corporate politics to get there. A neighborhood bully is king because he's big and owns several spydercos. A third grader is envied because he is a "teacher's pet". Don't do it because it's bad and immoral or do it because you need to survive this "dog-eat-dog" society.  Love the colonizers or hate them? The world is confused!

I'm more than happy giving it away. I support my toys/dogs/cats, and anything else goes to taking friends to dinner, or to the beach w/ their kids, or just on a day trip somewhere. I figure I'm gonna wear out before retirement so I don't really need a full bank.
I don't really understand the mentality to want more than you can use. Seems like alot of bother keeping track/guarding/counting/hoarding/protecting/worry to the grave.
I mentioned Asian Market bonds... The only stocks/bonds I have ever bought were on or at the worst times financially for the companies. I bought Dell at &7.25 when they released their first stocks. I bought Citi group at $1.07 during the bank crisis, and I bought Japanese Govt bonds 3 days after the earthquake. The rest of the world is running away, and I am staying put. These bonds will make enough in 5-7 years that I may not need to keep my business open beyond that They need the help to recover, and have the infrastructure to do it Quickly. This is not the first nuclear rodeo for them. Enough is the goal. I don't get the I need more bit

It's just a matter of attitude dude! and you got it! My goal is for my children to finish their education, retire, buy a big flat screen, big fridge, and a multi-burner stove (I love to cook), stay at home, watch movies, cook, eat, and do some gardening.

Less is more Bro! Why are people in such a hurry to collect sh** that Never has a use. 12 pairs of shoes, 3 closets full of clothes, summer house, winter house, city house, 950,000.00 in the bank, and the daughter is a runaway meth head at 17. The son is a date rapist in Collage, and the wife is more plastic than a Barbie doll.
I guess that is what makes some happy... Don't see it
I like to garden, and kids, and puppies, and kittens, and everyone else that likes Pina' Colada's.

Fu(k Jersey!

Ballance in life is what's needed, you cannot work so hard that you neglect your family or yourself, money is only important if your around long enough to enjoy it. Money has it's place ut it's not first place, being in touch with ones sprit is far more important.

Where you say F Jersey is that Jersey from near y England or NJ as in the US? And why?

New Jersey US! I'm from Long Island, and all the Jersey "Guido's" would show up in the "Hamptons" acting like A holes... Thus F Jersey.
Like getting Canada arrested for possession... Just something to do.

Nah, i dont get this hoarding crap either, if i dont need it or i wont really use it then  i dont buy it. Money comes in, i spend it on essensials 1st like food and bills, then whats left goes on the kids, the scooters or my car. If i got anything left after that i just blaze it up in smoke or consider it as beer tokens. Money doesnt motivate me, prob why i like to get rid of it as soon as it comes in. Long as i got a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food in my belly and enough to cover expenses and emergencies then im content and happy. I have no need for material crap to clutter up my life and house.

That's a pretty blanket statement, being from and still living in NJ I can tell you were  not all "Guido's" that's like saying their all part of the mob too. Some just want to act that way, kind of like kids today wanting to be bad assed or gangsta. In short long on stupid short on brains. I am curious as to how you knew they were from Jersey, did they wear a sign? Lol!

But I don't take offense, those Jersey shore guys are from NY, so that tells you the shoe is on the other foot in NJ.

No worries. There are several ways you can tell Jersey people...
Lisc. Plate
Hair gell
I love Jersey "T" shirts
Drunk/stoned at 8:30am
Sandals with socks
Tan teeth
Guys with tiny dogs claiming it's their Gf's
Fake eyelashes on the cars headlights
Cary the cell phone in a shoulder holster
When given directions they always ask..."Why the f*** is it so far"

There's a few ways to tell. I can usually smell the Polo cologne way off.
The rest of Jersey is ok I guess... I knew one girl from Jersey that was nice.

Right you are man! A lot of friends ask me how I managed to get this far without money in the bank. I told them that I spend or share my money. And it comes back a hundred folds!!! Help one person in need and a hundred will help you back. "A penny spent is a penny enjoyed!"

I watched The Dictator today in the cinema. :) Baron Cohen was great, he pissed on everything, political correctness, USA, American "democracy", Cheney, Middle East, Israel, blacks, whites, Jews, lesbians, 9-11, vegetarians, hipsters, Apple... this time he decided to leave out only Europeans and Mexicans (he bashed them in Borat and Bruno though. :)
