Spark/gas /compression
The big three!
Like I tell everybody, don't give up!
-
Scoot should start on the kick with or without a good battery.
Like zombie said. Essentials are compression, fuel, and spark. Compression and spark are easy to check, If those pass your inspection, start with cleaning the carb and adding some Seafoam to the fuel.

your bullets
870 remington good enough.
-
I hope its not just bad gas Ill be so darn mad. :'(
-
I hope it is just bad gas Blue . Hopefully you will be riding again soon . Good luck .
-
I can get it running but the air filter has to be taken off. and I have to have the gas line comeing from a bottle. I think the fuel sender is bad on the tank .
-
It appears we are all witness to a first... Scootercide
-
...blue, if ur muff clogged, u been rich for some time...not entirely a bad thing, short term, but if ur pipe is clogged, and you dont wanna burn it..

how far down should the needle be siting in the carb. I may have to rise it up or down.
scoot well runn when I spry carb cleaner in it.

Have you tried sucking on the vacuum line to the petcock? Perhaps your petcock is stuck.

took the petcock right off and did it. soaked it in carb cleaner over night.
sometimes I can get it to turn over sometimes I cant. when I hook the gas line to a bottle. it turns over but turns over hard. But at times I can keep it going for a while. then when I check the plug its burning rich. what gives .
-
Between yours/mine/everyone else's I am TOTALLY CONFUSED. Didn't you just get a cylinder?
Could you please start your thread again in order of what happened? Have you gotten a pipe yet? Pipe is FIRST for troubleshooting this. With NO back pressure there will be LITTLE or NO vacuum for the petcock to work. Your "hard cranking" is due to flooding so the plug is correct.
Please post it over in order. I'm lost...
-
lost is what I am too I checked out so much on my scoot I dont know what order I did it.
-
Mary K just gave some advice I love... Hit it with a mallet.
For real dude... Compression test/fuel flow/ spark
. Start over with the comp. test.
-
+1 on the Don't give up, Blue....
walk away and it will show up.... ;)
-
got it going good and strong but when I give it throtle is dies .
what am I doing wrong its got to be the carb.
-
Dirty carb?
Clogged jet?
-
ok its out of my hands for a while and into someone ealse.leting a buddy play around with it.
he has a few kymcos him self so we will see.
-
Just had an epiphany... Change your fuel line. The line may have separated from the liner INSIDE. Eth will de laminate the liner causing blisters, and obstruction. Get two feet of marine outboard line to replace it. They have re formulated it to take Eth.
-
Did it already thanks. Its down to were the guy thats looking at it thinks its the cdi box. it well start.but wont rev.

I must have missed something somewhere down the line....
shouldn't that be carb related?
-
he well know more ounce he gets the scoot to his place later in the week.

Does it have a throttle position sensor?
wow something I dont know im shocked. :o
thats something I do by eyeing it up. most the time I can get it right.
-
These scoots are carbed so No TPS. Ther was one post here that did have a cdi that would not rev. First time I EVER heard of that but it did happen. He tried freezing the cdi, and no spark> Thawed it would start but NO rpm's. Your boy may be right blue... Ask him to start posting! we need new punching bags here.
