Title: LDC8 and LDC6 motor?

Hey guys, i just found something interesting.
I saw that all the parts for my scooter were marked LDC8, as if they were made for a model or motor with this number, but the motor as the noly part said LDC6.
This backs up the theory (lets call it a theory, as i cant seem to find any evidence) that the scooter is made with the 80ccm engine and later fitted with a smaller engine to be sold on the western market. :D

Does your parts say the same? ;)

yea i'd noticed that aswell and it makes a certain amount of sense. the learner market is mostly 50cc and 125cc so they cash in on this by downsizing the engine from 80cc to 50cc. im trying to find evidence but constantly hitting a brick wall.

Does this only hold true for Kymcos? Or chinese as well?

i havnt really looked at any other engines by other manurfacturers, but i have noticed alot of the LDC6 stamp on afew of the parts, some others say LDC8, but with things like the exzuast being narrowed down and restrictors in the air intake it would make perfect sense that the engine was downgraded but to save money they just modified oem stuff to suit the newly shrunk engine.

Many of the scooters i see here in Denmark seems not to have parts like the exhaust or contra spring of the type for a 80cc, so my guess is that they are build for 50cc originally. But it would seem like an explaination to why many chinese 50ccs are getting so much discredit. I mean, if the engine are build for 80, but that they havent changed much other things than the cylinder size or havent made as high a grade cylinder/piston for the smaller engine. But really i don't know, as i genually keep my distance to chinese fabricated bikes. A bike made in china can be good, if it has been ordered by a big company like peugeot (who have had their speedflight 3 made in chine), if this company is supervising and are making quality checks and inspection. :)
