Title: Fuel probs
Post by: Luckyone23 on March 19, 2012, 11:49:13 PM
My scooter pooped out one day after putting in old gas in bad gas. I tried octane booster but no flow to the engine. I changed the fuel filter and now it starts but won't accelerate. Idk what to do next.. Do u?

It has clogged the jets in the carb. It must be removed/dis assembled/cleaned. There is no way around it.

..i learned my lesson..waay back in th day about pouring old can gas in my scoot...

..the pilot jet..(starting jet) is waaay small..around 1/3 of a millimeter..

..dont take much a piece of crap to clog them up...

You guys know if those GY6 engines are any good? I might trade a guy my PS3 for his Chinese 4 wheeler with a GY6. Just for girls and my dumber friends to ride.

I like it just fine. Mine is a China engine also. It's the rest of the scoot that blows. For a ps3 its a fair trade... Youll spend a few bucks buying better parts but it should last awhile. The gy6 BBK's can be bought for 70.00 or less, and only take 2-3 hrs to prep/install.

It's a Peace or Peace sport(I'm not sure on the proper name of the brand) and has the 125cc GY6. It looks to be in really good shape. It does need a starter but that's like $20 shipped(could just be the relay huh?). Yeah I've been doing a little research on the GY6 engine and there seems to be oodles of parts. I'm gonna try to go look at it this weekend.

Yeah my buddy had one too. He sold it when he got his license back. I think it had way more torque than my stock people. Not any more though ;D

Thanks for the advice guys. Sorry to steal your thread Luckyone. You can have it back now ;D.

Let us know if you get it fixed and what solved the problem.

Peters... Aprilla sr50. Haven't decided on Factory, or Sport yet. The Minarelli engine is the top choice for tuners soooooo I think I can handle it.
Slinger... I'm akking 2700.00 but for you I'd take a grand, and deliver it. I am getting ALL NEW cvt, pipe, and top end parts so it will be in PERFECT condition. Adding a Primary gear set to the secondaries in there to get a final ratio of 5.7:1. It should cruise at 60 (8500 rpm), and top near 80 (10-11,000) when finished. Right now it cruises 50 at 8500, and tops at 74 at 11,500. I will POLISH EVERY BIT, and keep it at the shop till it sells. I went from a daily driver to an out of control race set up. So I have to sell to keep out of the poor house. I get about 150-250 miles before needing the sliders on the var replaced, and about 500-600 before needing a belt. Rollers last a week before they are too flat to use. (Malossi/Dr Pulley).
If you want a scoot to take every, and all comers at either full 1/4 mile or any road course this is the scoot. If you want to ride every day... Forget abo it!
I love all you guys here (not just Slinger) so I will extend the offer of a g note but you will have to ship.

I'm not sure you would want this one... It attacks anything less able than itself. I still can't find the LTD 1000 that was parked in front.

Anyone need a set of matching gator hide grip warmers, and seat cover. Maybe a nice Manatee tire covers for the foreign posters. (can't legally sell them here).
