Hi.
And greeting from finland. How do i know is xciting injection model or not?
-
I'm new to the Xciting, but if I learned things correctly, the 500 model got fuel injection in 2009. I don't know about the 250.
-
Ok thanx a lot. My kymci is 500 2007 so no injection. Anyway it felt very good after malaguti madison 250s.

Hello to Finland... Say Hi to Mrs. Santa for me.

Even my xciting has "xciting 500i" label on the side. :-\

http://www.kymco.com/ (http://www.kymco.com/) I believe you will find the answer here. If it is not easy to search try dropping them an email. You could study up a bit, and find out by looking.
When you turn on your key, do you hear a whinning sound (engine off key on). There will be an electric fuel pump that will buzz for just a moment when you first turn on the key. Listen careful as they are very quiet. If there is NO sound it is Carbs.

There is buzz sound when turn key to on position. So this is injection model. Anyway it is 2007 model. :-*

I really don't know. Just that all injected engines run fuel pumps to get the pressure needed. I would also believe that 500"i" stood for injection unless someone added the badges later . Try Kymco Global to be sure.

I have a 2007 Xciting 500. When I turn on the key I hear my fuel pump clicking. Sometimes many rapid clicks, sometimes only a few slow clicks depending on how long the scooter has been parked. I don't think your scooter should have "i" badge if it is truely a 2007. Perhaps it has been upgraded? Or perhaps, as Zombie said, the "i" badges were added later.

Or is it possible euro models are different than us models?
-
They are different. Euro/Asia have very different laws/rules on scooter design/use. You may indeed have an early Euro version of what was later released globally. IDK?
In thinking about it I would think all 500's have a fuel pump. Although It may be engine driven on carbed models... dont know.

TADAAAA!

I think I remember someone saying Europe got fuel injection a couple of years before north America did. Our exhaust system has a plug/bolt where your sensor would be, so there must have been fuel injected models made somewhere or they would not have put a hole in the exhaust? :-*
-
Good points all. I also remember hearing the carbed versions have a plunger type fuel pump whereas the injected ones have something more like a car -- motor driven? Clicking = plunger type. Whining = injected type.

I think I've seen fuel injected 500s as early as 2007 here, but I could be wrong,
2008 is more likely.
-
It is injection. Talk to local dealer and he checked it by the serialnumber. First registration date is 10/2007 so model can be 2008?

Very cool to be you. Thanks for letting us know.
