I want to buy or craft some type of tunnel bag for my 2007 P250 but am concerned about covering up those 2 vents that are located where the back of a tunnel bag would ordinarily sit against. Does anybody know if those vents actually serve some purpose? I can't find any info about them on the service manual/owners info.

18 people didn't say it (views) but... Don't block anything looking like an airflow source on a scoot. The engine/regulator/stator (on some), and other bits depend on air flow to "keep things cool". Other than that...

Thanks, That's what I was afraid I was going to hear. On to plan B whatever that may be.

Just looked at a picture of an '07 and looks to me like there should be plenty of room to put a bag on one without blocking the vents. Unconventional sources might be soft sided tool bags/pouches found at Home Depot, Lowe's, hrdwr stores, etc. There are actually some good looking ones. Or say small soft sided pet carriers. That's what's on my Xciting. ;) If there's any metal underneath the floorboard, you might could use magnets to hold it in place.

Here's what I got -- The "cube" (smaller than the small)on their page 2 in black. http://www.sturdiproducts.com/client/products.aspx?Info=clIyQ1WVK%2fw%2fxUVyx09uTg%3d%3d (http://www.sturdiproducts.com/client/products.aspx?Info=clIyQ1WVK%2fw%2fxUVyx09uTg%3d%3d) They've got larger ones too. It holds it's shape by flexible rods. Can be collapsed and folded by taking rods out. I put all kinds of things in mine. Husband bought me a $65 MotoCentric bag the other day. Basically a mini backpack and it wasn't a very good fit. Today I went to a Goodwill store and found an insulated cooler/lunchbox type bag that when flipped upside down is a near perfect fit. Vents aren't blocked and all I need is a bit of velcro that I already have. This is my first bike. Hubbie got it for me on our 25th wedding anniversary. What a great guy!

P.S. Forgot to mention the Goodwill bag cost $1.49!

I told my wife I wanted to buy a BB gun for her 13 year old son on X-mass. She hesitantly agreed. All was good till I opened my gift... A "T" shirt with a bullseye on the back.
