I'd like to thank JustWantToRide for mentioning these in earlier posts. How are these working for the rest of you guys who installed them? I put them in the other day and am very happy with the operation. I did replace the rear blinker lamp OEMs with red LEDs before this.
I got an item called "Add-a-circuit" at a local auto parts store. It goes in place of any 10w fuse and has an additional fuse and wire coming off of it. I used that to power the Magic Blinkers. Pushed it into the 10w ignition circuit fuse socket. I used a 3w fuse in the Magic circuit but can go up if it blows. The Add-a-circuit came with several fuses of various wattage.
Ran the grounds of the Magics straight to the battery ground. Thus, I only had to cut 2 wires in my harness.
Oh by the way, I don't think my 4 way flashers work now.
They don't give you much wire with the magics so one of them wound up sitting right on top of the battery. Anyone think this will be a problem?
Anyway, it is very nice to have all red lit up across the back of the scooter. I think the Xciting's rear light assembly is just made for this look!

I used the "BackOFF XP Brake Light Signal Module". My brake light flashes 3 times then goes steady. It complies with NJ law and works great. The guy behind me can't miss it. Also, easy to install.

Hey, Munks. What's different now is the lamps that are the blinkers are on all the time. When you turn on the blinker, then it blinks. You could leave in the stock bulbs but I did away with those and put in bright red leds.
By the way, I had to leave the cover off the fuse box since the "Add a Circuit" sticks out too far. Actually, I couldn't even leave the fuse box mounted on the battery box as normal -- it's just laying beside it for now. Will work out something.

That's cool, I like it. Good idea. Much easier to see. I kinda wonder if the older models can handle the extra draw on the battery.
The carb'd models actually have a little extra juice available because the EFI draws a few amps (as does the ABS on ABS models). I would still switch to all LED's and an LED blinker module. Not all LED's are the same. Just a quick question to Hoolander or Justwanttoride,
Did you need to use the load equalizers suggested in their diagram:

to ensure the LED's flashed at the correct rate?
I'm planning to do the full upgrade with super Bright LED's, and hope to get everything right before cutting things up!

Don't use load equalizers - they work by creating more resistance so your LED's will use as much electricity as a regular bulb (and are more work to add in). Replace the blinker module with an LED module and it is a plain plug and play change - and you get the benefit of using less electricity.
I also wouldn't recommend majicblinkers with the standard bulbs because the housings may get too hot (I don't know for sure).

No I did not put in load equalizers so I do have the very fast blink rate with them. I actually like that now. Yeah I'd do as JWTR says and get the led style blinker module if you want it to blink normally. Mine are still working on that 3 watt fuse but I guess that depends on the draw for the particular led lamps you get -- and also if you run all four corners on the same circuit which I suppose I would. I still haven't cleaned up my installation. Fuse box still hanging open. :P Of course if you just tap hot wires like they instruct, you wouldn't be adding any fuse.

Do you need to remove the fairing to change out the indicator relay? (there is just one isn't there to cover both sides)?
I am going to order the parts up, and the only thing i'm semi worried about, is getting to the relay to change it out for the superbrightleds one for LED's.

I can't answer about the flasher since I haven't done mine.
I'd get bulbs that have leds pointing out radially as well as straight out so you'll take advangage of the scooter's reflective bulb housings.

You may be able to remove the flasher without removing the fairing - but I had the fairing off when I did mine. Turn the key on, turn a blinker on - and listen and feel for the clicking. If I remember it's on the right hand side - up high on the steering stem.

Hey, Superseagulls, by the way. The oem blinker lamps are white and they are covered by an amber globe which comes off. Keep that in mind when selecting a color. I left the globes off and got red leds. That's for the rear, I think the fronts are actually amber colored bulbs.

The actual bulbs and sockets are different too. I didn't realize it when I ordered my LED's and ordered 4 of the front style. The difference is in the alignment pins, one has them at 12 and 6 oclock (directly opposed) and the other has them at something like 12 and 4 oclock. For the rear I used a dremel and removed one of the pins - and they work fine - but try to order the right ones...
I have amber in all 4.
The difference in the alignment pins is usually a difference of Euro or US designs, so it seems really odd to see the two types together on one bike.

I've added Magic Blinkers on both the front and back. Amber up front and Red in the rear. Like JWTR I ordered the wrong rear bulbs also, but just ground down one of the pins and it works just fine.
To correct the blink rate the easiest is to just replace the relay. On the X250 (I'm assuming similar to X500), I removed the front cover and it can be found on the right side kind of behind the horn level. The easiest thing to make sure it is the right one is to unplug it while your blinker is on and see if it stops. It was probably the easiest mod I've done yet (just took me a bit to find it) kind of had a "doh!" moment.
