Title: Plugged exhaust port after 3 months...
Post by: HabHazard on November 06, 2011, 04:51:44 PM
Hey again guys, I have a question. Approx. 3-4 months ago I installed a new piston and all the fixins in my cobra topboy. started losing power a cpl weeks ago. scoot now sputters bad, goes 15 mph max. I pulled the head just for giggles, and the exhaust port that I cleaned thoroughly, now is full of carbon, there is approx. a 3/8" h x 1/2" long gap for exhaust. Hints on what would cause this is greatly appreciated. Btw, I use the synthetic quicksilver 2cyc oil from wally world. and have been using sea foam on and off since the rework. also still using the bike oil injector system.

Thanks for your time....  ;D

The Quicksilver oil is manufactured for use in liquid cooled watercraft engines . I use amsoil interceptor oil designed for oil injector air cooled engines . Good luck .

I can hit 50 mph with ease, if i get a nice tail wind, 53 to 55. I feel like a complete tard. I started using klotz from a local cycle dealership the scoot is running like a dream now.  ;D

Here's a Kymco Super 9 AC that was using some weirdo cheap oil from the gas station.

This is where I got my info. Notice there are different recomendations for injection systems and pre-mix , depending on what you choose to do . www.amsoil.com/products/twocycle/2cycle_chart.

The AMS oil brand interceptor and dominator 2-cycle oils are what my dealer recommends. The mechanic there says the only difference is the dominator is designed to pre-mix easier and has the red dye in it. That's the only difference. Both the same price.
