Post by: Forest Grump on September 13, 2011, 01:55:19 AM
Want to check out both how do I get to them.  Do I take off the Met-in and how is that done?

To take the met-in box off, there are 2 screws in the front bottom of the box, 2 screws in the upper rear of the box and one large screw on the inside front of the box.  As you lift it out you must disconnect the light, it is just a simple plug.  After that, I have no idea about how to get to the plug.  I brought it back to the dealer for the 600-mile service and he replaced the plug.  I guess in about 2000 miles, I'll do it myself so I hope someone with knowledge answers before then.

There is a good thread here somewhere about getting to the valve cover to set the valves. What Fish said was the essence of that post. The plug is right there and I did not search out the fuel filter when I did mine.

I found all the right bolts and it came off fine.  The spark plug gap was so wide it was disgusting.  I was able to get a plug from Napa, it takes an 18mm spark phug socket and changed it out to a new plug properly gapped.  Changed the air filter and it runs perfectly now.
