Title: Shad Backrest - anyone seen one?
Post by: JustWantToRide on August 27, 2011, 04:55:59 PM
For some reason I prefer to use a backrest and a basket rather than a topcase on a scooter.  But I haven't been able to find a backrest that would mount well.  This one from Shad should be about $85, but I haven't seen one pr hear of anyone who has.

Anyon familiar with this one or another?  I don't like the ones that have extra bars along the grab rail...

Thanks.

I have a Givi model TB80 which is almost identical to the Shad. Almost looks like Shad copied it. I'm not using it but what would you like to know?

Does that Givi fit the 500Ri?  Is it sturdy, and is it comfortable?

I found where I can order th Givi for $72 - I couldn't find a place to order the SHAD.

I believe the Shad is solid - and the Givi has holes in it (and molded shapes instead of just curved.

Yes, yes, and yes. Like I said it is almost identical to the Shad. It is an older version of the TB80 and is solid. I had it on my 500 for a while then the wife decided that she wanted a top box so I removed it. If you are interested in buying a used one then PM me.
