I just purchased a "Motorcycle trailer carrier tow dolly hauler rack hitch" on ebay (see item # 110732905980 for example) for which I intend to tow my Xciting 500 RI. Does anyone know if there will be a problem with towing by the rear wheel since there is no neutral gear?

I wouldn't trust that to move someone else's people 50, let alone my Xciting 500 - not even using it the way it's intended. Towing it by the rear wheel you aren't going to be able to steady the bike to keep it from swaying, or to keep the handlebars from turning and ripping the bike from it.
Bad idea - I recommend you don't do it.
If you mount your Xciting 500 on it - please post pictures before and after.

x2 pic of that . I guess it might work for short distance but for long distance I would not trust. But only if you can lock the steering some how.

Thank you for the responses. I asked a large scooter dealer's mechanic about this situation and he said it is no problem to tow this scooter by its rear wheel. The angle of the front wheel is not an issue since it will be held in place by the hitch. I will try to post photos if I do use this method. Does anyone know if the odometer uses the rear or front wheel?

Will probably be on the front.
Good luck towing :P

If the odometer is electronic, it won't record with the ignition off. I use a Versa-Haul to transport my scooter. This thing looks a little scary. Please let us know how it works.
