thx Jenny,
The maintenance schedule in the owner's manual sometimes lists: oil change, transmission fluid change and valve adjustment. The owner's manual doesn't show how to do the valve adjustment but maybe the service manual would? Is valve adjustment important, particularly when the scooter is new?

Checking the valves to make sure they don't need adjustment is important.  Adjusting them when they need it is important too - but more often than not you'll be just checking...

I just purchased a new red like 200 I and have asked my dealer for the service manual. I am waiting for a response. I would like to know the clearances for the valves as well. This Scooter looks very well constructed.

THE VALVE CLEARANCE ON BOTH INTAKE AND EXHAUST IS .10 MM

At 3000 miles the owners's manual calls for:
- replacing the oil filter
- replacing the radiator coolant

Do either of these really apply to the Like 200i? Is the oil strainer the only filter or is there another one? Its air-cooled so there's no coolant to change, right?

IT LOOKS LIKE THERE IS JUST A SCREEN AND THAT CAN BE CLEANED AND REUSED.  I WILL LOOK UP THE SERVICE SPECS A LITTLE LATER TODAY FOR YOU.  IF AC NO ANTIFREEZE NEEDED.

Any update on when the service manual for the Like 200i 2012 will be available.  It's now March, 2012.

    Thanks,

Would this be basically the same on the 200i ?  Has anyone done one here ?

Exactly the same.
Skadamo posted something about Cyclopedia? It's an on line manual service that part of the proceeds comes back to the forum for our picnics and such.

I've got a PDF of the service manual I downloaded off some website only after signing up through facebook. It's about a 100mb file, 157 pages. I can send a dropbox link if anyone wants it. Just shoot me your email address. Note, there are plenty of misspelled words, i'm hoping the numbers in the specs are not also misspelled. Also the plastics tear down diagram is from a People S. But other than those two things its a pretty nifty resource. I can send a dropbox link if anyone wants it. Just shoot me your email address.

What is a "drop box link"? We have a thread here called "links to manuals". Is your link something that could be pasted there?  Thanks!

I have the 100MB 157 page "service manual" but it is sorely lacking in useful information for the 200i.  It appears to be for the Like 50 and Like 125 and there are many major differences between those and the 200i.

I would try hounding Kymco Global... Or an Email campaign to every major dealer you can find on the web. The manual you have won't help put air in your tires. You could also try Kymco Taiwan, or China. I have called them several times for cdi info, and they are VERY helpful there. The hard part was getting the point across you need to speak to someone in English. If you have a Company name or the company you work for it helps sound more official.

I've got the same file as you, some stuff is helpful, but it is for carb models, and some of the schematics are for a super 8/people. And lots and lots of "engrish".

Hello Dolemite,

I would appreciate it if you could send the Kymco Like 200i shop manual to my dropbox at <jkuszaj@wheatoncollege.edu>.

I have a 2013 Like 2000i.

Many thanks.

Kymco no longer makes a hardcopy service manual anymore. I just purchased a Kymco GT300i today & asked if the dealer could give me a PDF. service manual. They said "no problem" & e-mailed it to me within minutes. Your mileage may vary per dealer. Some simply don't want you to have it. They want you to spend your money @ their shop.

Good Luck!

Here's the link to the file, it's actually for a like 50/125 carb, so it's not exact but the best i've seen.

Greetings - I was able to purchase a manual for the Kymco Like 200i from http://www.epfguzzi.com/kymcobiz/service/index.html (http://www.epfguzzi.com/kymcobiz/service/index.html) ---- you need to email or call and they will burn a copy to a CD and mail it to you for a reasonable fee (fast shipping, as well).  This is my first post so I  hope I did the link properly.

The manual is like any other that I have seen - good if you know what you are doing :)  but always worth having.

I think it says 29.99 when you click on the link. Seems a bit steep for a burned copy on a disk that I have to then print out if I want to have it at had while I do the work.
Title: Re: Service Manual Download?
Post by: Dodge on October 15, 2012, 06:29:50 AM
I paid $10 for the burned copy plus $6.10 priority USPS shipping - I felt a VERY FAIR value with the consideration there was no other option available.
Title: Re: Service Manual Download?
Post by: Lucasan on October 15, 2012, 03:24:02 PM
yes that is a lot more reasonable than the $29.99 listed on the site when you click on the link you posted. And it is specific to the Like 200i huh?
Title: Re: Service Manual Download?
Post by: Dodge on October 15, 2012, 06:59:37 PM
Yes the manual is for the Like 200i only ----- and of course it is a "burned" copy .PDF format - not a professional copy - I guess the dealer gets a CD / DVD (?) library of all models, and in this case they just select the model you need and burn that section for the customer.
