After 1000 k it is absolutely ok. Ive ran amsoil 10w40 in mine form break in and have over 17,000 on mine.

I can understand the need for fully synthetic oil in a 600cc supersport that revs to 16.000rpms..
but for example, Kawasaki recommends MINERAL OIL for my bike, the 2007 ER6F, a 650cc twin
with 72hp with a 11000rpm red-line (!).. so.. that's exactly what I use, Motul 5100 15W50.

This forum is for starting threads! Synthetic oil is not bs nor is it overkill no matter what engine you have. Plus you can run it alot longer sothe more money factor in my opinion is not true. Die Hard AMSOIL fan in everything i own.

Yes, Amsoil synthetic oil is derived from special oil and virgin oil wells where angels fly around and play flutes...

From what I've read during the years.. synthetic oil can be WORSE then plain old mineral in some engine
types. It's not even remotely that simple.

Simple here, I use the same synthetic oil in my truck and my 2 bikes. I just buy 4.5 liter jugs, why use anything different then you use in your car or truck?

The two things synthetic oil is better at is longevity and heat tolerance. Since the Agility 125 does not have an oil filter we cannot take advantage of the longevity synthetic oil provides because we have to change the oil to get rid of the solids a filer could remove. With an air cooled engine the heat tolerance can come into play depending upon your local climate. I’m in Texas and its 107 F today so yes I can benefit from synthetic oil. Long term test have shown there is no benefit to changing your oil more frequently than the manufacturer recommends. This last bit is going to inflame some folks but it’s been proven in extensive studies, the most notable one done by Consumers Union.

Ive had nothing but good out of syn oil. I dont know if i would use the same oil in my car than i do in my bikes. Now my scoot doesnt call for jaso-ma specific oil but my motorcycles do. I assume when you say bike you are refering to a scooter. auto oil is too slick for motorcycles wet clutch set up. i havnt saw any scooters yet that cant run on regular auto oil but i just like what amsoil offers so i use it. My harley runs almost 100 degrees cooler with amsoil. Yes i have a temp reading dipstick.

That is correct, only wet clutch motorcycles require special motorcycle oil. For dry clutch bikes (like CVT scooters) the correct SAE viscosity motor oil is fine.

Synthetic is OK for A50.
For A125 (much more power) it has to be special polymer blend used in Formula 1. Only that kind can withstand extreme conditions inside GY6 engine.

AND you need special additives that are used in MotoGP.. it's not JUST the F1 fuel.

i loves me a good oil thread and this is just as good as any. i even voted :)
i use mineral oil...Shell Rotella T 15w40. i use it because good 'ol boys all over the internets say "oh hell yeahs i pour somes in my truck, my Harleys, the tractor, the Camero and the little lady's scooter and they just keep on going!"
its all purpose stuff, has a bunch of good additives and detergents in it and what not. i had gone to synthetic but meh. got a gallon of Rotella T on sale for $12 and never looked back. scoot seems to like it fine at over 9,000m

HI GUYS!!!
I always break in with standard motor oil (more friction). Anything on the shelf is fine... After 500 miles I do two changes back to back (50 miles apart), and swap to Castrol full synth. The reason for me is... The Synth. won't burn or form sludge in the cases. If the oil does change color I find the reason.
PLUS... I feel bad putting all those innocent Dinosaurs in my hot tiny engine. I hear them scream.

Rotella is not available in our place but Shell Rimula is. Are the two the same? By the way, I use Delo Gold 15w/40 in my super 8 125.

Amsoil is a small company with only blending facilities, they don't have refineries to produce synthetic base stock oils.. Who do they buy these Polyalphaolefin base stock oils from???
Their major supplier of Polyalphaolefin base stock is Exxon/Mobil, the largest producer of synthetic oils in the world. They purchase some Group III base stocks from Shell, Petro Canada, and others. About 90% of their additive packages come from Lubrizoil.
