Title: 23mph tops, what can I do?
Post by: Apex_4 on July 26, 2011, 06:13:35 AM
I just go an agility 50 and it's only going 23mph tops and usually only 20.
I checked out the bike to find that the cdi box has already been cut propperly.
Why is the thing lagging behind so much? What can I do?

Also, how to mod it? I want to be able to get at least a solid 35mph.

Dont think I ever heard of a kymco that slow  :D all restricted agilitys I know of do 31mph anyway at least.

Search the forum for derestrict under the agility 50 section. Theres loads of info there tellong you how to do it. Im guessing you may have other issues tho if your scoot is that slow even on the flats.

how many miles? new or used? have you checked the basics?(spark plug, air filter, change oil, clean carb) i would open up the transmission and check that over, if you post pics of the transmission parts we can most likely identify a problem if there is one. good luck Apex & welcome to the wonderful world of kymcoforum  :D

One of mine did this! i kept pushing it and it hit 35mph with CDI cut. Decided to take it to peices and i had blown a 'O Ring' so i brought new piston and rings. 42mph easily ever since and feels dead smooth

Buddy ditch your stock variator for a multivar or polini, you will get 40mph straight away!!!!
