Title: CDI identification help
Post by: scottmiller771 on July 09, 2011, 01:55:44 AM
I have a 2010 Agility and I am looking at upgrading the CDI to a unrestricted one but have found there are two types A/C and D/C.
Can any one help me identify what type mine is.

I would just cut the CDI from what I know it is just the same. You can find threads all over this forum on how to do it.  But your CDI is D/C...

I am not sure but, I have read on these forums that the 2010 model has a different cdi.

Thank you for the replies.
I don't want to mess with the factory CDI I would like to put it back to standard if I went to sell the scooter.

I have 2010 agility and cdi de-restriction procedure is the same as on any other model year. Standard cut at the back of the cdi.
Also, you can buy standard oem kymco cdi and de restrict original one. It's cheaper than buying quality aftermarket with no rev limiter.

And I'm not sure, but complete ignition system works on A.C. current. Service manual says that.

My bad.
It seems that kymco uses D.C. cdi. Ignition system is A.C. but it's beeing converted to D.C.
