Title: 2007 Kymco Exciting 250 4500miles busted the crankshaft, need advice!

We were just riding to town when BANG, ratatatatatatatat! I figured I broke the belt from the sound.
My mechanic says near $2000 with tires which were bad. My scooter is 100% bone stock.
