Title: Gear Oil Change Problems - Please Help!

Hi,

I tried to change the gear oil today and when i go to put the drain bolt back in it won't tighten properly, i usually tighten bolts with me fingers until i cant tighten it anymore then get the socket set out to finish the job but when i try to tighten it using the socket set it loosens the bolt and i have to finger tighten it again. Anyone know what may be causing this........and anyone know a good way to put in the fresh oil without making a mess allover the floor?
