Title: I just have a trip from Seattle, WA to Perris, CA
Post by: allenquach on June 29, 2011, 12:56:12 AM
A trip from May 29th, 2011. My GV250cc was new only 300 miles on it. I put 20w50 oil and check everything before I go. What a trip! I rode along Hwy 99 then 507, to Hwy 101 (oregon) mostly rain and cold, passed golden gate ($6.00 for a pass) then Hwy 1 (CA) to reach Big Sur but I had to reroute because of rocks fell down the road. I took Cammel valley and back road to Hwy 198, then 33 (chevron oil facilities, smell bad) to santa barbara, followed hwy 1, throug Los Angeles city roads to Perris. It took me 3 nights and 4 days to reach the destination, 1500 miles total. I rode average 40-45 mph average, but usually 50-55 mph except pass through town 35 or 25 mph. It's fun but you need to plan ahead. I don't plan ahead so I got frustrated sometimes to find a motel (cheap price) closed to San Francisco ($160 a night) but I got GPS to find a motel 6 ($76 a night but I negotiated for $46 when I came around midnight)...Overall it's worth the adventure! If I have a chance, I would ride again. ;D

Now I left scooter for my girlfriend in Moreno Valley (closed to Perris,CA) it's 2000 miles already. I changed motorcycle oil 20w50 (Valvoline brand, bought in walmart) hot weather so that oil would be ok. I also change gear oil. plan to change spark plug and air filter but don't have a chance. I took a plane back to Seattle on June, 15. Well, feel good. Now I have to go to find a job for a new chapter but still looking. ::)

I would not buy another one. A bigger bike maybe. Anyway, I already experienced with GV250, it's definely a cool scooter despite of speed limit. I bought it through craiglist only 12 km and $2900. It's for my girlfriend in Seattle but she moved to CA and she begged a favor of me to bring it to her. First I planned to ship it but I had to drain all oil out and cost $500 for shipping then I though why not took her for a ride, then memorial day came up... So I did as my mind told me, awesome trip!. A little bit scary when on Hwy 101 20 miles closed to golden gate bridge, cars ran over 70 mph and mine lingered at 50-55 mph. I didn't push her over 60 mph because you know, engine reserved... Scooter still run good as my girl report to me from CA 2100 already. Good scooter!
As I remembered on the second day, rain all the way and I rode her all day from 8am in the morning until 9pm and the scooter still responed good the next day. I am still flowing with my thought...

Hello all. I'm back. My girl in Moreno Valley, CA told me her GV250 is now 5000 miles and still running good. She is crusing on hwy 215 everyday, 50-60 mph without any problem. She just changed oil and air filter last week. Sparkplug was still ok. For me, GV250 is a wonderful scooter to ride around even out of state. It's amazing! Grasp it if you have a chance. ;D
