Title: Engine dies above idle intermittently

 My people 50 intermittently dies when the throttle is opened above idle.  Starts fine and runs great when it's above idle.  Scoot sat for a long time but tank, lines and carb were flushed and fresh gas added.  It only does it on occasion and doesn't matter if it's warmed up already.  Help!

I would check in the following order:

0. (Clean the carb and clean/check the lines: you said this is done)
1. Spark plug
2. CDI
3. Needle and float
4. Main jet

Here you will see what are the main elements of the carb and their influence on the fuel flow, depending on the throttle opening.
Very useful for troubleshooting.

What is the CDI?  Ran some Sea Foam thru it but no help.  Seems like something is sticking.  thanks so much for your help!

Forget about Sea Foam, it is forum`s favorite snake oil.
