G'day all, I decided to post in this section for a little more exposure.
I believe the Honda Dio gears won't fit the ZX50. I was wondering if buying the primary and secondary gears together would make a conversion possible? Any thoughts on this are welcome, looking for any info, good or bad.
Cheers,
Sid.

sry mate,
this is like stage 25 for tune up scoot....
kymco is puling much of it from honda parts, but...
gear ratio for high speed?
-
Good morning sid... well, you actually may be eating supper.... :D
I too am under the impression that the dio gears ARE different and wont fit BUT i like your thought about both sets going in.. It seems on my travels the "dio/elite" ppl dont know either way about interchangable parts.. I'd almost say that if all was swapped that it could work.. I do have a set of zx cases here(hope to build a stroker for my baby this winter), If you need me to open the rear up and check something in there... That sure would be alot cheaper than some other gear sets out there FOR SURE.. I would have thuoght it would work, the cases are identical to each other..(supposedly alot of parts won't interchange between dio/elites/aeros,have a aero, they have 6;1 gear ratio, com[pared to my zx 10.5:1)

G'day batman, dinner is gone, nice it was too, lamb and roast veg. left overs for work tonight too. I have read that they won't match, so I was wondering about a complete swap. Then there is the ? about whether the wheel will fit the Honda shaft. You are lucky, you have it all there to try. Scooter Assassins have gears there that they claim to fit both.?
-
Ha, i don't know about trying... I take 1 step forward and 3 steps back on this..... :-\

Dunno mate, you have an aero and a zx case, I think there might be a rule that you must put the two together. ;)
-
Honestly, the original plan was to use the top end/crank from the aero ON the zx case for a broke ass' stroker build engine. the aero has an odd crank with a 14mm wrist pin ???.... I haven't checked yet but was told the bolt holes are different on the cylinders which will pop YET ANOTHER bubble on my "next engine"... they look about the same, gonna have to measure

can't do a build on the aero engine? 14mm sounds like an engine designed for larger capacities.
-
I really dont like the styling of the aero, drum brakes, it jus seems alot of danger ;D..Also it doesnt have a kick start, IDK why they would only install electronic start.. PArts are non existant (well body parts for sure). Idk if i could even find any gaskets, engine parts. these were made for 1 yr and they went to the elite version.(the lead was made across the pond)....
Yeah, i dont think i have ran across anything till this witha 14mm wristpin, that just seems odd...(finding 14mm pistons are harder also... :D) (wiesco makes them for about $65-70 :o) It will run tho but some reason my speed was/is lower than what even honda says it'll do. ::)

No kickstart is ok, until you have a flat battery. Don't ask me how I know. :) That Honda sounds like a bit of a donkey. What about the gears, any chance of using those in a ZX?

Never heard anything about the aeros gears... Of course i havent opened it up yet either.. I know the pulleys are way bigger than on the kymcos.. A homemade "OR" kit popped into my head with the rear pulley, the vario is wierd loooking and the crank hole is massive compared to kymco
