Title: How much do you pay for insurance?
Post by: Goodrich on June 10, 2011, 03:14:35 PM
Since I payed cash i'm not required to have it but with my luck i'm likely to get screwed somehow.  Since it's my new mode of transportation everywhere including to work and back it is considered my main source of transportation.  I got full coverage with 'uninsured motorist' added.  It's costing me $30 a month.

That sounds like a decent price.  There are so many variables that go into a price that it is hard
for 2 people to compare their rates.  Much better for you to get 3 quotes and take the one you can live with.
Foremost, Progressive & Dairyland are the companies that we have used.  They all offer good value
but under different circumstances one may be cheaper than the other.

Mine has collision and comprehensive with a $500.00 deductible. On my 2009 Honda Rebel is was $12.43 a month. The 2011 Kymco Like 200i is $23.34 a month for me. I'm 39 with a perfect driving record, good credit score, but not so great zip code.

I forgot to add my deductable is $250.  The insurance on my car went down some because it's no longer my main vehicle..I have to call and find out by how much.

For a $250.00 deductible that doesn't sound bad.

Live in Florida, my DT300 with $250.00 deductable, 100/300k Liability and $100.00 Comp. deductable is $121.45 per year.  This was with Allstate.

I think Progressive has a price of $6 for roadside assistance....?

We $85/yr for all of our vehicles (2 vans + 3 "bikes") from AARP/Allstate.

Again, you have to check around.  and it varies with your requirements.  Ours is for 100 miles towing.  For 50 miles the price is about $50.

Kawasaki has roadside assistance for about $50/yr and they don't care what brand of 2-weheeler you have nor how many.

Depends on if your insurance company offers it.  On my car its around $5/year or so.  They don't offer it for motorcycles/scooters though.

An alternative would be to go with Allstate's RV Roadhelp program or something through AMA.  Either one runs around $75/year, but cover all your vehicles.  Aside from RV Roadhelp, all of the others I've seen do have limitations as to how far they tow or the max. towing $ benefit they provide.

Don't know if it helps much becasue I'm in the UK, but mine's £117 including roadside asistance, which is pretty cheap here I think.
Again, I'm an old bugger with no accidents...

$46 every six months for full coverage with State farm. $500 deductible. I have my home and 2 other vehicles on this policy and a great driving record so this helps keep the rates down.
