Today I picked up my 2009 GV and so far I'm thrilled. Smooth ride and very comfortable. I do notice a hot rubber smell, which I assume is the new belt. My vacuum cleaner makes the same smell when the belt spins against the beater bar.
Coming from a 150cc Chinese scoot the lights are a big improvement, though I'll probably have to adjust the aim of the headlight.
Looking forward to opening her up after break in.

Congratulations, AVGuy! What a great feeling, eh? ;D Where are you located?

I'm in Newburgh, Indiana, southwest part of the state on the Ohio river. Bought my bike at Big 4 Cycle in Evansville.

Welcome to the forum and to GV ownership.
I had the same burn odor. My dealer said it was the
new belt odor. It has decreased with miles.
I also stepped up from a 150cc Chinees scooter.
I do miss the larger wheels, but not the hard-to-start feature.
Mine is a RED 2009. What color is yours ?

White was all they had left, but I like it a lot. Very clean looking. I'll probably resist putting any stickers and decals on it for awhile.

Welcome to the forum, I have a white one too, I'm new to biking my self , just got my license a few weeks ago.

Congrats on that scooter. I live in Illinois and was talking to Lorenz about buying. Oh well he has more. Piaggio 250 w/. 16" wheels next choice. Joe

Just got a 2007 GV myself and I too am sooo excited! I posted on another thread for any tips, information, anything anyone wants to share that will make my riding better..Im fairly new to riding and we are taking a trip to Wisc. and MN --me on my scoot and my hubby on his motorcycle. Will the GV work for this trip?? Expecting to stay mostly on roads with top speed limit of 55-60mph.
A little nervous, but ready for the adventure!
thanks!

I hit 72mph this weekend, was a little tough with winds at 20-30 mph. Its my first time going that fast. Good luck on your trip and stay safe

thanks for letting me know..I hope to stay around max 60-65mph which I have heard is a good cruising speed for this scooter.
DOes anyone have any issues with the smaller tires?
