Title: Any shops work on Kymcos in New Smryna Beach Fl?
Post by: J-7 on June 05, 2011, 01:46:23 PM

I'm looking into moving from Orlando to New Smryna Beach, but I know there is no longer a Kymco dealer there. The closest would be Daytona, but that's kind of far to drop off over night for the valve services. There is a Genuine dealer there, but don't know if they would be able to get parts etc. Just got the scoot.  :-\

I know this doesn't refer to your post but I had to say something here, hope you don't mind! Years ago, I and a friend were on the beach in New Smryna, FL. I was in the water at chest deep, looking toward the shore, all of a sudden something grabbed the back of my leg/muscle and about pulled me under. I ended up with four huge holes in my leg fevered night and not wanting to ever go in the ocean again! I could say a bit more about it but I am running off here on a different subject...sorry. By the way, I am in PA.

I had my dt300 serviced in Daytona last month.  Its the Red Ember Cycle.  They seem to have a pretty good service department and dealership.  They just added several new scooter lines including Vespa.

Yeah, it's the shark attack capital of the world. Thanks for the good report on the Daytona shop, I'm glad to hear they are adding more scooter brands as well! That's a great sign. There was a Kymco / others scooter only shop in NSB, but it went under. :P
Hopefully Volusia Motorsports would work with me on the valve services, and I could do the "while I wait" stuff at the Daytona shop or something. I REALLY like the scooter, and would hate to have to switch brands just to get service.

Ugh. Just google mapped the Daytona Kymco shop at 35 minutes away. That would be a pricey cab ride to and from after dropping it off. :(

Ride your scoot in, leave it for the service and take a loaner. :)

Take a loner? That would be perfect if it were a reality. Do you know about that shop?

Nah mate, I'm in Aus. So I guess that won't be an option then? Being that you are so far away it would be good customer service. When I took my ute to Port Augusta for a service, 80 kilometres away, I put my suzuki in the back so we would have transport while they did the service. When I went in to give the keys, the girl asked me if I wanted a loan car, wish I knew that before putting the bike in the back. :)

Wow, that would be nice. Only the high end Harley shops seem to offer such a thing around here.

Well it looks like I'm not moving for a while, so thanks for any responses. Fortunately my Kymco dealer (JSO) in Orlando is a really good one.
