Just checking to see if theres any scooter clubs here in SA
-
You can try a google search for scooter clubs in SA.
I got this list when I did.
http://www.google.com/search?q=scooter+clubs+in+san+antonio+tx&rls=com.microsoft:en-us&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&startIndex=&startPage=1 (http://www.google.com/search?q=scooter+clubs+in+san+antonio+tx&rls=com.microsoft:en-us&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&startIndex=&startPage=1)
Maybe there is one near you.
Also check with Ft. Sam Houston & Lackland AFB to see if they sponser any scooter clubs.
When I searched Pine Bluff AR, all I got were drinkin clubs!

Thanks for the link Maryk, I'll check it out. What color is your GV, I have a white one
-
Mine is Red. It was the only one the local dealer had in stock.
It is the only one in town. Not too many scooter people here.
We ride with friends that have a Honda Silverwing (his) and a H-D Sportster 1200 (hers).
No mods to the GV except for a small tail bag to hold my necessities.
And a gremlin bell on the front wheel.
Just got the 623 mile oil change done last month, so I guess the engine is officially broke in.
Scoot safely and be careful in the heat,

I'm taking the m/c writen test tomorrow, then I'll start logging in somemiles here around the neighberhood til I get more comfortable.
-
Too Late to wish you luck on the written test,
so I hope you did well.

Got a 100 on the test, it was pretty easy. So now i'm just riding around here. Have you gotten on the highway wih yours, How fast have you gone, just wondering. Thanks for the good luck
-
Congratulation on the 100% score !
Yes, I get on the Interstate during off-peak hours to travel to get to slower roads.
I have only gone about 65 MPH max for a few miles.
The scooter is stable and comfortable. Wind gusts are the main problem since the scooter & I together weigh less that 500 lbs.
One day last week we wanted to out on the Highway to a nearby town, but the wind gusts were too strong for me,
so we did city riding for practice. I am not very adventerous when it comes to riding.
Have a good summer and be careful of the heat and traffic.
-
I'm gonna try and do some highway riding myself this weekend, maybe sat or sun morning. What kind of bike does your partner have? Can't wait till my wife gets her scooter so we can go riding together like you guys. Stay safe
-
My husband likes to mess with older Honda motorcycles.
His 1983 Nighthawk 650 is his keeper bike and we ride double on it. He usually rides it when we ride together becasue it requires less shifting than his other bike.
His 2nd bike is a 1989 Honda VTR250 which I bought him for as a Valentine present in 2010. He just had it painted red/white/blue.
The engine has a narrow power band so he spends a lot of time shifting if riding in town, so he mainly rides it when we do country riding.
Be careful on the highways. They are different from the city streets. In some ways safer and other ways more dangerous.
Have you found a riding buddy yet ? We have found that total of 3 or 4 scooters/bikes is the max that we like to ride with. No big groups for us.
Scoot safely,

I hit 59 mph today , according to my speedometer, not quite sure how accurate this is. I have a friend that rides , but he has a harley and more experience than me. Do you have the original wing screen on yr scoot or have you done any upgrades?
Stay safe and watch out for those 4 wheelers
-
Scooter is all original. I've been thinking about a taller windscreen, but want to hear about it from an owner first.
The speedometer seems accurate enough, probably 5% slow.
Just added a small tail bag on the luggage rack, an American Flag decal on the windshield, a spirit bell on the front wheel and an extra red reflector under the license plate.
City riding today to the regional park (10 miles) for a plant swap at which we do volunteer work.

I have the taller Givi windscreen and it does take away alot of the wind..feels like just a bit of my head is above it. gotten the bike up to almost 65 and it felt good..little wind in the face. It came with my bike-previous owner installed it.

Scoot Safely,
I have a 2009 Grandvista with a GPS, and the speedometer is exactly on. Just FYI.
I just ordered the taller windshield, and I'll let you know how it goes after my husband installs it for me :)
-
I appreciate the info on the speedometer being accurate.
Now, I can tell the husband how far off his MCs are.
I'll be waiting for the info on the taller windshield.
But, I am happy with mine since I am short.
We rode to a park near the Arkansas River after lunch today.
It was very warm and humid, so not the best time to ride.
The bridges across the river provided good views and we saw a tugboat & barge working their way upriver.
About 40 miles all together with some city streets and mostly rural roads. The GV did well.
Happy Scooting,
-
I totally like my GV. I've taken it up to 76 mph it ran great. I do have to say that I run all over San Antonio on it. If however, I am leaving the city limits I take my 2003 Heritage. The cool thing about the GV is that it is so easy to park Most of the time I park under the store roof close to the bike racks. Guess that will work until everyone decides they want to park scooters up close to the door too!
-
I also park my GV by the door when I go to planet fitness here in sn antonio so far no problems
-
Hey mdc, how many miles do u have on your gv
