Title: 2002 Yup 50 increasing top end
Post by: tarpon230 on June 03, 2011, 01:19:56 PM
My Yup tops out at 33 mph, is there any way to increase that? Or is that all the 50cc is going to give me. I'm willing to do whatever, I thought about replacing the roller weights and belt will that help the topend? Please help.

Thanks

I have the same bike as you, you're variator boss drive is restricted, you need to either machine the lid off or replace it with nonrestricted boss drive.you're top end will be on the 40+mph...:)

Do you know where to purchase one or pics on how to cut the lid off? I'm not to sure what the boss is?

I got my unrestricted boss for my agility from Taipai Scooter Assasins, delivery is slow at 1-2 weeks to the UK but it was only £8-£9. Gave me about 10-13mph gain. Race variator gave me another 7-10mph, and I use 5.5g weights. Also derestrict your cdi if the yup need it and its not been done yet. I get 50mph on a real good day, average 45-48 normally on flats.

If you search for derestrict yup 50 in the search bar there should be more info of exactly how to do it.

Hi Tarpon,
You can either buy the boss at your dealership or may want to upgrade to malossi variator from Provoscooter.com
