Just did first oil change at 150 miles, have been limiting speed to 35 MPH, and varying RPM's. Plan to do next oil change at 500 and gear oil before that at around 200-250. How long should I keep up the RPM variances and speed limit?

If I were you, I'd ride it in a way that you're gonna ride it later anyways, after the first oil change
(and you already did that).

Ride it like you stoled it. 5550km on mine, no issues. ;D

I've got 10k more.. sorry to report that I had a starter motor die on me and the
speedo cable.
That's it.

yep, ride it like you mean it! Don't baby it, but don't run at one speed for prolonged periods. Change the oil often, and don't use synthetic for first 1500km.
Hope it lasts, and you get fun out of it!

Yesterday I rolled on up to about 45 or 50 MPH and felt it still had thrust left. Very
impressed. Plan next oil change with 15w40 petrol oil at 600 mi and then a switch to
Amsoil at 1200. 1500 mi intervals with screen cleans each time should be sufficient with synthetic. Anyone thoughts otherwise? Will change gear oil to synthetic as well. What is the gear oil change interval? My Owners Manual does not specify.

Just got mine a while ago, have about 600 miles on it. Changed the oil at 25, 220, 450. Going to change it again at 950, then every 900miles after that. At 450 I put in a rare earth plug you can get from Ebay, same size as Honda Ruckus. I have already lost a bit on my top end, gonna change to a Ruckus 795 belt now, instead of the 788 stocker.

Dont run it too easy during the break in period. You have got to seat the rings or the thing will be a weak pos. The more you can run it up to 40 and 50 mph and let it coast on while the engine is under load. no during free wheel but while the engine is still turning higher rpm. This creats vaccume , load , and will help in ring seating. i tell you the mechanic that services my 2010 Iron says its the stoutest one he has saw with the mods i have. I just think easy break in is a bad idea, just my opinion.

I'm done with it. Varied speeds, but did not baby. Runs great daily and after a few petrol oil changes went to Amsoil a couple hundred miles back. No modifications planned.
Really eyeing the red 2012 Iron my self ;)

Yeah i write down every time i change my oil since i bought the scoot new. Ive done it about 17 time and it has 17,000 k on it and runs exactly like it did when it was new. My little scooter has been good to me.
