Post by: robban95 on May 04, 2011, 07:51:35 PM
Hello, i have a kymco people 50 2t but it's accelerating very slow and the top speed is about 40-45km/h.
I wonder what i can do to fix the problem i don't want it to go over 45 but i want it to become a bit stronger.
I'm sorry fore bad English thank you :)

Need a little more info. Has it been ran regularly or has it been sitting? How long have you had it? Have you replaced the belt recently? If not check that. Your cvt may still be restricted but if you dont want to go over 45km/h thats fine doesn't hurt acceleration. uhhhh..... Spark plug been replaced recently? Just some simple things to check to start with.

I was told the 02 people 50 was not restricted but I can't confirm that . You could have degraded gas . I put fresh gas with 1 oz per gal seafoam additive . Good luck .

Fresh gas , seafoam ,new plug ,30lb air in tires, make sure the brakes arn't over adjusted, your exhaust may need cleaning.Check out you tube for videos .

If you use a ashless synthetic 2 stroke oil it may never need it again . Good luck .

Also check the exhaust port in the cylinder for carbon build up.

how long time is it supposed to take fore the p50 to reach 45 km/h ?

My stock 02 people 50 will reach 80 kph in about one eighth of a mile on level ground . If yours won't perform in a similar manner there is something wrong . If you are not able to fix it you should seek professional help . My p50 has 13,650 original km on it and the engine has not been modified or repaired . Good luck .
