Title: People 150 vs. Super 8 150

Hello!
This is my first post.  I've been lurking and learning from you for this past week.  I have a chance to purchase two scooters in extra fine condition, a 2005 People 150 and a 2009 Super 8 150.  I know the People 150 has 152cc engine, while the S8 150 has 149.7cc engines.  Both are within the same weight range.  Which exhibits more torque out of the shoot?  Do they handle about the same?  Which is more zippy/torquey within the 30 to 40 mph range?  Which is your preferred ride?

I like my Super 8 150.  I have not ridden the People 150, but I know that it is more expensive and I think it looks a little too plain Jane.
I like the more aggressive style of the Super 8.
Both are probably about the same performance wise.
Pick the one that suits you.

I emailed Kymco USA about the difference in the listed CCs of the two 150 scooters. Here is their reply..

"With the figures listed, it calculates to be 149.5cc.  The 152 listed on the website appears to be a typo.  The 3 cc's difference would be negligible."

I do know there are some differences in the two engines. They are not identical.

The super 8 weighs more and has smaller diameter wheels . I would just pick the one I liked more or the best price . Good luck .

For nipping in and out of traffic, the smaller tyres are better. For more stable ride on slightly longer trips the bigger wheels run better. Smaller tyres run hotter faster.

I've owned a Piaggio Fly 150 and ended up selling as I didn't like the small diameter tires. I now ride a People S 125 with the larger 16" tires and am loving how the scoot rides and handles. The S 150 would be my pick of the two.

    I do a lot ofd 50-60 mph riding, so I like the better stability of the larger diameter wheels. That's why I went for a People 150. I'm happy with the scooter.

I prefer the seating on the super 8.
I usually sit back pretty far to keep my knees away from the handlebars and the people just didn't feel as good that way.

Sorry not trying to derail the thread but I have to ask about your opinion of the Fly 150, specially since the Piaggio engines are so sought after. The Fly 150 was my first option, but I settle for the super 8 because the only fly I could get my hands on was a 2009.
