I'd like to find someone with a pair of old style Xciting mirrors for sale. These would be the ones which mounted on the fairing. Please no broken plastic or mirrors. Orange would be nice but any color is fine. :D
Best if they're in the USA so shipping won't kill me.
Seen some on an auction site but they were in the United Kingdom.
I want to try a modification I saw on Youtube.

what modification is that? Mine is an 09 model but still with the old mirrors. Can't really see anything except for the bar ends and my fingers. Thingking of replacing them with the new ones.

I wish I could find that video again but I can't. It was from a European country I think. A fellow moved his mirrors up to the windshield. He made extensions from what looked like bar stock aluminum which mounted to the top windshield screws and extended just enough out to mount the mirror there. Put a couple of bends in them to get the angle right and painted them black. I think he even used some thin rubber gasket type material under the extensions. Then mounted the mirrors to the extensions. He also had to cut the black windshield dressing just a tad with a dremel. It turned out great. Mirrors higher up.
So his mirrors now appear to start right next to the black dressing immediately adjacent to the top screw. No drillling of the scooter required -- just the minor cutting of the black plastic.

He filled in the old mirror mounting areas with a nice looking grate or something.
His video was really good and showed everything he did. Maybe a 10 minute vid, if that.

I guess I shouldn't call them the "old" style, because I'm gathering they just use the different styles in different parts of the world.

I wonder if this is some after-market part one can buy? By the way, my memory was mistaken. The new mounting place is at the lower edge of the windshield as you can see.

That does look much better. Of course, I've always been a fan or rigid mount mirrors over the handlebar mirrors.

Wish I could read Italian. Now I'm wondering if they just took some piece of hardware from some other application entirely and adapted it to mount the mirrors. Or perhaps it's all the original mounting hardware moved up.

From the looks of it, it's all the original hardware with some extra bolts/nuts and some high density foam for protection. Also, the windshield does not look like it's been drilled or trimmed when I compared the shots to mine. Only the surrounding trim which aligns the windshield has been cut down.

That'd be nice. I'd say he gained about 4 inches in height -- still maybe not as high as the handlebar mounted mirrors. Also, they might be a slight amount closer inboard in the new position. Not good if you're a big guy or wearing a big stuffed jacket. I happen to be a thin guy, though so I'm thinking about doing this.
P.S. Not sure he got the angles the same on both mirrors.

The angles are probably off, but it's a piece of aluminum... easy to bang into the desired angle you are looking for.

Yep. And I checked and I agree with you -- no drilling of windshield. I found some new mirrors on ebay in the UK for I think 76 British pounds each. They might not be genuine Kymco but possibly copies. They are black and look the same except for some raised lettering on the forward facing surface. I'll have to check what the price would be in US dollars. I'll email em and ask if all mounting hardware is included.

That's about $124.00 USD each, $250 for the pair. Are they made of gold?

don't know why they are so expensive... Here it will cost me $150 for the new style mirrors (mounted on the bars)

Holy cow! Well, I won't be paying that much for mirrors. I have emailed them and await a response. We'll see if price can be negotiated.

Don't know anything about the fairing mirrors but there is no need to pay $150.00 for the bar mounted mirrors, unless just wild about the cateye Kymco mirrors. Any 10mm thread aftermarket mirror will fit, except the reverse thread Yamaha type. For $150.00 you could get a nice set of aluminum billet mirrors, or a selection of nice plastic head with metal stalk after market mirrors for $15.00 to $40.00 a set.
