Title: fuel float not working please help :)

i have this moped and my fuel gauge stoped working, i have taken the flaot out and when i move the float up the fuel gauge moves up. when i put the float in water (simulating and full tank of gas), it floats and the guage moves up to full, and when i put it in the tank (with a full tank of gas) it goes back down to empty!? got any idea of whats wrong with it? all the electrics are fine with it and it works fine, just not in the tank.

Buy another floater device on scooterpartmania. I did it a month ago for gf's A125, it had the same issue.
Around 8 US$ with shipping.
Original part is a few TIMES more.
