NGK CR8E standard or CR8EIX Premium. I will stick with NGK myself, have found it to be a good brand. Oil filter next......

My 2009 500Ri uses a CR7E plug. I'm going with a K&N KN-147 oil filter for my first oil change. It's supposed to be a high quality filter and has a handy hex nut on the bottom to make it easy to remove and replace.

When it's time to replace the one in my 09 I will go with the NGK Iridium CR7EIX as a replacement for the CR7E.  From what I have heard the Iridium will give you better performance and longevity.  Over many years of motorcycles I have found NGK hard to beat in these type of engines.  With only one cylinder I want the best I can find in there.

I used the Iridium NGK, I have been using NGK for 35 years ( giving away my age here) they are excellent  plugs. Have fitted K&N oil filter, that hex is very handy. I think the stock air filter is as good as you will get has very little flow resistance in my opinion ;D

What mileage did you replace the original plug?

5000 miles,it was a waste the org. plug looked good. Also replaced the rear tire, it was gone at 5000 miles hope the new one lasts longer..
