Title: Not getting a spark at the plug

Im trying to resurrect a Agility 125 that had nearly every wire chewed up by mice. Previous owner sold it to me for cheap. Ive got compression, gas, but no spark. When I take the spark plug out of the cylinder and ground it and then turn the motor to see if it sparks, there's nothing. I've tried using multiple spark plugs and same results.

This morning it was starting a lot easier and was sputtering. Now nothing. I found that when I flip the kill switch on and off I get 1 spark in between the on and off. Then nothing.

Everything else works fine that doesnt need the engine to be running (horn, brake lights) and when I'm trying to start it you can see the headlight and instrument panel lights glowing.

Anyone have any ideas?

Ok I tried the spark plug cap to see if it was seated bad, disconnected the battery, waited 20 minutes, and now it worked. I let it run until it died and then checked the spark again. No spark. I disconnected the battery and going to wait again.

Check the wires coming from your engine make sure they have no breaks in them.

Make sure that the battery is fully charged.
Electronic ignitions don't like low voltages.

 ditto as per maryk.....another posibility...ignition coil.....check for breaks and ground wire.....ig coils are funny they will work and get you a start up and than fail the next time you try...
