is the staitor needed to run your scoot or well it run with out it. But you just wont have lights and horn.
-
You need your stator. It's the most important part of the charging circuit.
.

I think it also creates the energy used to make you spark while the engine is running. You will need it repaired or replaced if it is not working. You may be able to use the scoot but your battery is providing the power to the bike and when it runs low, the scoot will not work at all.
Note: I am not an expert on these things, this is just my guessitimate based on my driving and riding experiences.

im just trying to compare scoots from a dirt bike.because I know little 50 dirt bikes dont have stators in theam and they run nicely with out. what makes them run with out stators.

If memory serves me correctly... Dam hippie grass ::) ;D
Dirt bikes used points and condenser instead of a staiter

ooooooooo ya your right I should smoke some more grass. ( Not)
your right they run just like a boat motor off points and condenser.
