Title: NSR, BMW R1100RS handlebar change
Post by: Ruffus on September 19, 2026, 02:13:51 PM
For a while already I was debating with myself to change my beemers low, strutmounted handlebars.
Since these original handlebars are rubbermounted (and look cool) for whatsoever reason, it gives a squeezy and inaccurate respond during driving (complained by many BMW riders).

..first, of course the Bavarian engineers put some technical boundaries like cabling too short or balljoints to remove, I tried a lower (chrome colored) handlebar, which was a tick better but not as I wanted it to have.
..second, all off and recabled again and a GS handlebar mounted, which is a good compromise between hight and distance/reach of my arms.
Additionally I got rid of this ugly and for me useless hand protectors.
And, a different windshield from a newer 1200RS was mounted too.
Testride was nice, sat like a human being on this bike.
