My kevlar and armored Bullet riding jeans do not fit well any longer....NO, my weight is going the other way! Have to wear heavy suspenders to keep them up.
Looking at a pair of RIPPL jeans. Lots of Kevlar and pockets for the customary hip and knee pads. I'll re-use my orange pads.

I never ride w/o snug wristed leather gloves (I recon there is no point in wearing leather gloves if my summersaults will throw them off before I hit the pavement), closed modular helmet, armored jacket & jeans and boots.

Some of their accessories available in the UK Stig, but not the jeans. Couldn't even see what they look like 'til I searched Google images! They look similar to some cargo riding trosers I bought a few years back except the Rippl look way better quality!

look good. I like the full Kevlar lining. Unfortunately one of my pair of riding jeans has Kevlar like in the illustration they use for the 'cheap, crappy, poorly protected' jeans! Oh, boy....

I have lost 50 lbs in the past few months, still dropping ??? doctors are on top of my weight loss, I will probably end up on insulin.
I've gone from 3xl to 2xl gonna wait before spending too much on cloths though

Rec'd my new riding pants - apparently from England? Anyway - they came quickly in my USP mail.
Very deep indigo blue - seem well made. Fit is euro slim in the legs, but they stretch - and feel comfortable.
They apparently are lined waist to cuff with Kevlar - and have a comfortable lining sewn over that.
Came with yellow pads - 2 knee and 2 hip. I'll research them and see if it would be better to replace them with my orange Klim D30 Level 2 pads.
I'll give a riding report - soonest.

my newest pair of riding jeans (purchased last year, not yet worn) is slimmer fitting like the image in Stig's link. I tried putting my thick D30 level 2 knee pads in there but they are way too bulky to fit well. My plan is to go to the D30 Ghost armor (thinner version) for both knee and hip.
Let us know what you decide for armor and how it works.

BTW: I wear armored riding pants on every ride, with armored hi viz jacket, armored boots, leather gloves, and full-face modular helmet.**
The RIPPL yellow pads (knee & hip) which came in the new jeans are CE aaa rated ("impact/abrasion protection")
The orange Klim D30 pads are CE Level 2 rated. The Klim pads are slightly larger than the yellow pads. Both fit in the armor pockets.

I'll be using the Klim pads.

Stig, you're getting rid of your Bullit riding jeans and I just wore mine today for the first time...liked them so much I bought a 2nd pair as they are on closeout which means they are being discontinued.
Bull-it Covert Evo Straight Jeans. Made with some kind of stretchy denim, AAA rated. I added D30 ghost knee and hip armor as regular d30 level 2 is too bulky in these. I have skinny legs (the term chicken legs has been used) and these are pretty form fitting.
I knew these were different when I first threw a leg over the seat today...wow! These feel like wearing sweat pants / joggers! The most comfortable riding pants I've ever worn. Must be the stretchy material. They LOOK like jeans but sure don't feel like jeans.
Have you had a chance to wear your new jeans? They seem to get good press.

edit: my first filtering criteria when shopping for new riding pants is to see if they are available in 'short' sizes. I need 30" length or shorter. The standard 32" length won't work, even if hemmed, due to the placement of the knee armor. It would be 'shin and ankle armor'.

Hawk, I think you're what is affectionately known over here as a "short arse"!

Neil, yes, yes I am! ;D

I assess my risk, no mater what you wear, it's never zero, my comfort is as important as protective gear, NH & ME don't have a helmet requirement, you might see me in full gear, or just a tee shirt, shorts and my Vibram 5 fingers

We see plenty of rental riders riding like Randy in Clearwater, FL. Even young gals in bikinis and flip-flops..... though I received a kidney punch from my daughter the last time I tried to catch a photo, for later automotive study - of same.
I did find my Bullet jeans to be somewhat water repellent for the first few rain rides.
Riding pants sold w/o the pads? - a first for me.
