Title: Starting issue 2013 UXV 500
Post by: mppd20 on March 24, 2026, 10:43:49 PM
I have a 2013 UXV 500 with 800 miles with a strange starting problem.  It starts most of the time and is never a fuel issue that I can tell.  When it is cranking, it cranks and the dash screen goes out during cranking.  A second before it starts, the screen come on and it starts normal.  I can shut it right back off and it may or may not start but it will if that screen come on.  Hard to explain but this is my issue.  It runs fine once it starts.

Welcome here!
Not an UXV guy but looks to me like a voltage drop during starting

COULD be caused by:
-weak battery
-loose battery cables/connectors
-corrosion on batt cables
-corrosion at ground points (minus to engine block)
-main connectors (dashboard) corroded or slacking

Have a look at this points, come back for Qs!
