Title: help kymco not revving up

i have recently replaced the cdi on my kymco, it starts up and idles but as soon as i rev it any it just splutters and doesnt rev up no matter how much throttle you give it just splutters, doesnt cut out though, let go of throttle and it idles fine, any ideas? wrong timing advance on cdi maybe?

If its a older scoot clean out the carb and see if the throtle cable is ok and maybe check the gas filter.check the the easy stuff frist.did you replace the plug. sounds like maybe the float in the carb maybe sticking.

Say, did it start this immediately after the CDI replacement?  Did you do anything else?

it happened after i changed the cdi and i dont have the original cdi anymore :'( :'(
ive bought 3 cdi's and cant find the right one for the scooter (ive been told by the sellers that they would work)
first one, when i kicked it over it kicked back on me and the engine started backwards
second one, idled fine, did rev up but really struggled managed to do 5mph or so
third one, the on i got now, idles fine, but dont rev up at all :'( :'( :'(
