Title: DTX360 - LED Headlamps

I do recall mentioning on a thread about 12m ago that these headlamps were ace and I'd take pictures to show you.  Well, it's taken a while...

Last Thursday I was out locally at a meeting and heading home just after 2100 hrs in the dark so I rode out of town to catch these photos to share:

This first one is on low beam

While this one is from the same position with high beam flicked on.  I find speeds up to 60-ish mph are easily possible in unlit areas with high beam on.  What an upgrade from H4's and a world away from the old Joseph Lucas (Prince of Darkness) days!

PS:  American readers may notice the bright white spots by the centre lines?  Cats' eyes.  Our rural road have them to show clearly in bad conditions where the centre of the carriageway is.  Great until an inch of snow falls...

Good demonstration Neil!
I never doubted that headlights desgned for an LED bulb were an improvement over a halogen.
One American car in particular has a horribly designed LED headlight. Certain new Jeeps blind everybody at night with their poorly aimed units.
My beef with LEDs are those owner installed into a bucket designed to work with the stock halogen bulbs. A bright flood of poorly aimed light is of little use at night, and might just bother drivers.
Good to see Kymco using LEDs, and noted that the new  Liberty has an (ugly!) LED headlight.

killer lights! Love the cat's eyes, too. That must help a lot.

Thanks Stig, yep, I've been delighted with them.  Best on any two wheeler I've owned.

Hawk you're right, they do!  Nothing quite like the reassurance out in the boonies (to quote Stig) of seeing which way the road goes some 200m ahead.  You certainly notice when, for example, they've been removed for resurfacing!
