Getting ready to gas up my scooter yesterday - I picked up my gas can and the spout fell off. WTH?!

I am so glad it fell apart before I had it tipped up over my scooter!!
Would have been a disaster - as both of my scoots have under-seat gas tanks!

I've used plastic gas cans for decades but have never seen one rot apart as this one has.
There is a bit of pressure applied to the gas cap spout - a trigger is pushed to allow the fuel to flow.
Nothing serious - but apparently, over time, it was!!

I duck taped it back together to cut the fumes - new spout is coming from amamzon. hopefully it fits.
Gassing a scooter isn't supposed to be this hard!

hope this fits - I really prefer any can that has a flex neck on it - VHTF these days!

I have a couple of gas cans like that, first thing I did with em was drill a hole and pull a short empty valve stem with a cap,

don't like the way they make the gas gurgle out on new cans

the  Risk containers I have, have a thumbscrew on the vent, they are also lockable to the floor mount (optional)

Yeah, 'kit' came with some vent caps and rubber washers and a drill bit.
I am in no hurry to put in my .50 > .75 gal of gas in my scooters. I top up before every ride.
So, the slow gurgle is fine with me - keeps me from spilling.

These yellow caps seem to fit only my old-style can! I took them to Tractor Supply, WalMart and Lowe's - would not fit any new can!
