I sent this pic to my wife in Calif last week.
"Look! they paved that lousy road near our house!...thing is as smooth as a girl's behind!"
(OK, daughter gave me lesson #407 after that remark)

Coming home in the rain yesterday on that newly paved road, a car pulled out in front of me - and I got to have another "well, that was exciting!" moment.
The rear drum, which, of course, couldn't pull up a sock, left it to the Liberty's front wheel ABS to smooth out the drama.
The Pirelli Angles behaved as well as any top-shelf modern tire will.
Typical. They say that most of the crashes occur within a short distance from your home. I was 3 blocks from home!

And that's why ABS is a great addition to motorcycle / scooter braking systems!

wow...and yes, just like that a day can turn bad. Grab a handful of front brake and the front wheel locks and down you go...thank goodness for ABS. I'll never understand the grumblings of the grumpy who complain about ABS. Unobtrusive until the very rare occasion when it saves your butt!
