2022 Kymco AK 550
Matte Deep Blue
18838 miles (may be more at time of sale)
550.4 cc parallel twin engine
CVT
Brembo brakes front and rear (same as BMW and Ducati)
Bosch ABS system (Same as BMW and Ducati)
Has 15 inch wheels both front and rear
Belt final drive
Underseat storage is about 40L (a guess)
Factory heated grips
LED flashing brake light bar added
Has Givi luggage rack/top case mounting base installed
Includes factory passenger grab handles (not installed)
Full set of new brake pads, front and rear, still in packaging
Brand new front and rear tires not installed yet with shipping label still wrapped around them (still a little good tread on existing tires)
New air filter in package
New CVT cover gasket in package
New OEM oil filters (2 HiFloFiltro HF164 filters)
BMW/Ducati oil filter wrench to fit filters
Other parts are also included.
Including the EasyBoost tool for replacing the CVT belt.
Clean title in hand.
In the photo of the dash all the LED segments work great but due to camera/LED flicker sync harmonics they don't all show up in a photo at the same time. The center display is LCD so it shows up fine.

I might try to sell mine for the same price and it has 7,500 miles with two new tires. I might get the brakes done at a shop, bleeding, new fluid. Pads should be pretty good.
I might even sell it for less.

Are you buying something else or something new? A month ago I felt I will never sell this bike. Ever! Love it so much! But my wrists, elbows and lower back are hurting a lot after I ride and even during the rides. My hands go numb go numb pretty quickly when I ride for some reason.

I did buy a Kawasaki Vulcan S 650 ABS. I tend to replace my bikes every 3.5 years or so.
I am pricing my AK just below mid point between KBB and JD Power retail pricing and trade-pricing. That is usually an accurate value IME. There are always those who are looking for a garage sale or bargain basement deals but this is not that. I wait for someone who will actually appreciate what the AK 550 really is... NOT Chinese junk.

As he said - it's not for sale in Europe.
We don't do scooters in the USA, and if we did we'd be looking at the known brands of Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki. Vespa if we're image conscious.....all of which are recognized names and thus hold a predictable resale value when used.
Kymco makes a fine $10,000 scooter. Reselling a used one puts the burden on the seller, with little help from the name - KYMCO.
It's different with the Japanese 3.

Even the Japanese 3 big names have problems selling in the USA. It's about the stigma so many have against scooters in general. Only those who know the value of this platform are wise enough to buy one and actually ride one for more than just a curiosity about it.

Seems the asking price for a (relatively) high mileage AK over here would be £4,000-ish or $5,400 USD. Hence my comment about it being a steal at $5K

The return on our investment is the fun we have in owning and riding these well-built and dependable KYMCO scooters.

And THAT's the problem for Americans. Too many of us think in terms of "investment" for everything rather than what we get from something OTHER than financial. That diminishes the joy in life.
And that is a huge mistake. NO vehicle of any kind is a good investment. You will always always always lose money on any vehicle. This compared with "real" investing that will actually make you money or increase your Net Worth. ALL vehicles are simply expenses the same as the food you buy or your LCD TV or furniture, etc.
Oh, and don't forget that there are a great many well known brand named vehicles, including Vespa, that are "made" in China. As long as the brand controls the quality that is followed. Even Tesla, which has the top 2 spots for the most USA made vehicle on the road today and has claimed 3 of the top 5 spots (containing the most parts sourced within the USA) has many parts from China. Ford has only ONE model in the top 5. Chevy and other so called USA brands are not in the top 5 for being all USA made. Only one of those are in the top 10 or even the top 15 of vehicles with the most USA sourced parts. China and Mexico and Korea and India are major sources of parts for all these vehicles.

The couple who bought it paid the requested price listed in the OP. The husband rides and the wife wanted her own bike to keep up with him on the highways. She just wasn't comfortable with manual shifting. So the AK is perfect for her.
