Title: gas can blues !@#$%%^$#
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on June 02, 2025, 08:44:01 PM
For years I've fueled my scooters at home, from a gas can.

I recently gave my mower and gas can to a needy relative.
Home Depot is delivering my new mower to my living room shortly - but now I need a new gas can.
My old can had a flex neck and a thumb shut-off - but I'll be da__ed if I can find a can which does both these days!

I can get shut-offs, and I can get a flex spout - but not both!

I need to order something - a lawn mower without a gas can might as well be a coffee table (not to mention two scooter/end-tables) ~ so if anyone has seen a gas can which would fit my needs - please show me where to find it!
This is the one I'm looking at. It has a thumb shut-off....and maybe I can find a flex bit for the end?

expensive, but I have a couple of these, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLP7TMM5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLP7TMM5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title)

I think this is the best answer to your problem, a retrofit kit for the new cans. Replace pour spout with new (old style) one and drill hole in can for vent.

I haven't tried one of these yet but I keep thinking about it.

I like the threaded & tethered caps on the Brisk fuel containers I have, friction caps get lost, the vent isn't tethered, but you don't take all the way off, just loosen. the snap in bracket is nice too, holds it in place without worry of tipping, lockable too.
